Increased volatility in the BGS -runaway leaders many retreats

I need to look harder to see what the cause is - I suspect the log base 2 term is missing from some or all of the BGS levers. I anyone want to list % gain, with starting influence, population and what you did (mission ++/profit on trade, Bounties cashed etc, I might be able to get to what's happened quicker

Oh, that's interesting - I'd noticed that in one system earlier, but now that you've mentioned it I see I have at least one more.

I have a population 61,000 system with a (non-controlling) faction that dropped from 25.1 to 12.7, and might have wanted to drop more if it didn't get a pending war; I had hit them yesterday with failed missions amounting to 63+'s. Or minuses, depending on how you look at it.

In a 2 million population system I have a (non-controlling) faction that went from 26.4 to 30, after I made twelve profitable sales, gave them 20 mission +'s, and cashed bounty vouchers in twice. That one's a little murky because someone may be undermining that faction (with a small effort).

Then I have a population 172,000 system whose controlling faction shot from 57.9 to 67.2. I did so little there yesterday that I didn't even note it, but that system gets a fair bit of random traffic and support.

I know of a war which had no movement from last night's (U.S.) efforts - still a draw. I know the daily tick tends to move when these updates happen, so it's possible it hasn't happened. I hope yesterday's BGS efforts were not recorded.

It is similar for us. Two conflicts without change and in a system we went 10% up.

I just think that the bgs and influence is wrong due to the update. We need a second tick.

Interestingly, the top 2 factions in the system are warring, while the what was 3rd place faction now has more INF than [what were] the top 2. :ROFLMAO:

Depends what the unexpected and untested patch note means. 'trend' could mean a couple of things.

If it is a cumulative reapplication of previous day's effort, we would see a bigger than normal swing when there are only details for the current tick.

E.g.
Effort tick n + effort tick (n-1)/2 + effort tick (n-2)/4

Uh, does Pirate Attack now block mission generation?

My faction is Inv/CL/PA, but no missions spawning (no errors, just 0/0 across the board)

We'd have predicted a little less than a 5% drop, the effect you got was not acheivable with a single lever due to diminishing returns

This one is well within expected movements, even not knowing the value of your profits and bounties, so either it behaved normally or you had more opposition than you are aware of.

That move is greater than was previouly possible using only positive actions.

Probably just part of the post-update server wobbles.
Yeah, just went elsewhere and no missions there either.... also

It's totally up the clacker.

As an indication that something is very different, this shows our combined influence change this last tick (when most of our activity was focussed on wars) compared to previous ones

For the war/3rd issue, https://cdb.sotl.org.uk/systems/21/history?minrange=3306-06-07&maxrange=3306-06-10 is an example

Privateers drop sharply, get into conflict with Likedeeler (who were second yesterday), Mobius then go narrowly above the conflict pair.

Meanwhile in Colonia where very high levels of passing traffic normally give fairly high stability there's a sudden spike for Jaques - https://cdb.sotl.org.uk/systems/1/history?minrange=3306-01-01&maxrange=3306-06-10 - not out of bounds, but very anomalous for the system.

In Magellan, PaX drop 15 points, shared equally to the other three factions

Definitely some odd stuff going on for controlling factions, but not in every system, and not even in every busy system.

I guess we'll see what happens this tick - might just have been a one-off.

It looks like if the principle of redistribution of influence between other factions has changed, if one of the factions is gaining influence due to positive actions.

I've only checked a few systems since the update when live, but we are seeing between 2 and 4x the expected influence increase.

Also states and conflicts seem to be stuck.

Going to be a rough ride for a bit!

I noticed the one day latency in conflicts - maybe its because of one day the servers was down. We will see at todays tick what happens.

Also noticed the 2x-4x boost in some of our controlled systems, and discovered that all those systems has a minimum one station or outpost with "orbital refinery", selling tritium. Maybe some connections with that (and with the infinite tritium respawn rate added).
