Horizons Increasing explorer rank, how has it changed???

I have been sitting at the same rank and level of 40% ever since engineers has dropped,, before I was jumping up fairly fast simply by doing the robigo runs and scanning each system I passed thru while fueling up,, now it won't move at all,,, I just sold close to 150k and still sitting at 40% so what gives????????? what do you have to do now to increase that % and rank?

Have you given it a while, after you sold it? The exploration server is not one of the brightest.

I have NO IDEA!

I have suspected for a very long time that something is borked in the ranking system. Like you... I have been more or less stuck at Tycoon 50% for literally a year! I do plenty of trading too, but my percentage hasn't moved for ages. I actually contacted Frontier about this and they informed me that there was nothing wrong with my account.

So... No idea what trading I am not doing to prevent my trading rank from moving even 1% in over 12 months. [weird]

Well... I wasn't going to mention this... but

Before I went to that new Ancient 'things that sell for 4000 credits' Spot that everyone's so hot about, my rank thru Ranger was in the high 30%.

Somehow it's now at 42.

I maybe turned in 300k worth of scan data in that time.
But I DID sell some ancient stuff to a Scientific Outpost.

Hmmm.. maybe I go look into this. An 'Exploration Commodity'.

Why not?
And the more you sell.. of course the less xp your garner. I can see Fdev doing this in secret.

Driving the SRV also raises the explo rank. The more the further from the bubble you are.

How does that work exactly? Do you get the ranking progression as you drive on a planet you have scanned? Do you get the progression immediately or do you get once you sell the data?

yes,, I too would like to know how it works.

Simple percentage per mileage.
Nobody knows exact figures, of course, but you get a small increase in rank per kilometer. Plus the further away you are from Sol, the higher the gains. I imagine that at Beagle Point, the kilometer driven has many times bigger influence.

Ok thanks for the info. I will test this out once I make my way back to the bubble. I'm currently on my way to the Great Annihilator, from Jaques. Too many neutrons and black holes to scan. Once they get scarce I'll head to the surface of a rock and get a few kilometers in and test it.
