Thats why I'm willing to pay the price for it. I currently run a 4 monitor setup. The Obutto looks like it will be perfect for me since I use my pc for everything. It looks like a good all around setup that allows for regular computer use an productivity as much as it does gaming.
Im playing on a 5 year old i5 quadcore processor (2.8ghz?)... with a 970. Game plays great on low settings + low shadows.Hi guys, you've talked me into buying a DK2, however, my PC will require upgrade(s). My 2 areas of concern are my GFX card and my processor. I have a GTX560 card which I'm going to replace with a GTX970, but would an i5-2500k @ 3.3GHz (stock) CPU run ok?
If I only need to upgrade the GFX then great, it's a done deal, as my intention was to get the DK2 up and running now, then replace my PC altogether when the CV1 releases (then the kids get the old PC and DK2). However, if the CPU won't cut it, then I may as well get a new PC now, then upgrade the GFX card when the CV1 comes out then sell/shelf/bin DK2.
Thanks for any replies.
Thanks for your replies, I've now ordered the DK2 and a GTX970 so should hopefully be VR gaming within the next couple of weeks![]()

While it is cool, I'd still like an option to turn the 'automatic menus' off, and control them with a keypress. To open the left and right panel with your head works wonderfully.
Yes! and I'm pretty sure this is something that has been formally requested from the devs. I am SURE they are aware of the issue as well, as there is a large percentage of the development staff that plays in VR.While it is cool, I'd still like an option to turn the 'automatic menus' off, and control them with a keypress.
Sometimes they get in the way of the view. Plus you sometimes get the popup/close/popup/close syndrome when looking around to the left or right, which can be distracting.
Then you truley don't understand what it is like. Even if you only got till the end of the year with a DK2 before you had to pick an official product...it would STILL be worth every penny. Get the DK2 now... and use it for the next year or TWO before all of it is ironed out. My bet is that this is NOT like a VHS/Betemax war. Brooks himself has already said that ED will support all major VR headset releases that come to market.I"m waiting for one of the various goggles to get ahead and standards to be established. At the moment we are in the equivalent of Voodoo vs Power VR, Betamax vs VHS wars when a new technology is about to take off and ultimately only one will come out on top.
I'd much rather wait and see which one surfaces as the winner and gets the most support. I'm not that desperate that I can't wait a year or two if needed.
I have the X52 Pro Hotas. My pinkie trigger is bound to UI focus. I hold it down and the menus do not pop up. It works really well now I'm used to it.While it is cool, I'd still like an option to turn the 'automatic menus' off, and control them with a keypress.

I'm with you on this. That's the problem with tech, always moving. Buy now, you will not regret it.Then you truley don't understand what it is like. DK2 now, CV1 or valve later.
That is ok... but what I want is the opposite. I want to hold a button to MAKE them popup when I look over there, not hold one down to keep them. Although, that is better than nothing. I tried doing something like this with my target software, that worked well. I flip a switch on my HOTAS, and now all the time the menus don't popup. I turn the switch off, and now they work. The only issue, was that it broke comms (because technically, it was a key being held down)... so I had to turn it back off.I have the X52 Pro Hotas. My pinkie trigger is bound to UI focus. I ordered mine in February (to Germany). To my surprise it arrived already 5 days later.
