I will take a look, after the last IJ movie I was totally not going to buy it, but maybe it's like the old Indy we love.Didn't think I would since I've disliked all the others...but I'm really, really enjoying this. The team responsible for this new and refreshing take on an Indiana Jones game made one of my favourite games of all time, Chronicles of Riddick : Escape from Butchers bay (Xbox 360)...you can see the pedigree with the first person gameplay, especially the fisticuffs....which is really satisfying...and appropriately testing on the harder difficulty settings.
The story and characters are engaging, the gameplay is rock solid and bug free, puzzles and exploration are interesting and varied...but the best thing is, it's not trying to be anything else. It's not an Uncharted, Assassin's Creed or Tomb Raider clone...it just does it's own thing and does it really well.
All in all, a really solid 8.5/10 from me. (a few clunky stealth mechanic bits that need patched out)
Grabbed it on Gamepass since it was free![]()
The AI is a bit naff sometimes, so be aware of that...but I kinda forgave it that since overall I love the game. It's a proper old fashioned Indy adventure romp, more tied to the movie franchise than the games. Nothing too serious or deep but truly enjoyable for what it is. It sold me off the bat with faithfully recreating the Raiders of the lost Ark opening level right down to the camera angles and shot composition for the cut scenes. The game timeline is set in 1937 just after raiders...so in between the first 2 movies.I will take a look, after the last IJ movie I was totally not going to buy it, but maybe it's like the old Indy we love.
Objection, y’Honour! The game timeline is set in 1937 just after raiders...so in between the first 2 movies.
Not really, it kinda does it's own thing in an Indiana Jones way...does it fairly well too.Is this something like Tomb Raider?

Visual Novel then? Or - gasp - an adventure? Seriously, where did that genre go? The Lucasarts Indy games were jewels.Tomb Raider is more action, platform gameplay. Indiana Jones has action too, but more exploration and puzzles.
It's a mix of both of those with the emphasis on the adventure...still enjoying it through my second, more methodical playthrough trying to hoover up all the ancient artifacts and stuff.Visual Novel then?
