Intelligence reports establishing

Dear Pilots Federation, bugs viruses trojans are cutting down the stations reports capability and influence status reports across the bubble.
The possibility to obtain information is cut down by extreme cloak and dagger operators that choose to close their flight into "californiASOLOrPrivate" routes too, which however can be acceptable if maybe further tools are put at disposal of Squadrons, Factions, Super Power.

The following suggestion is in fact keeping in consideration not only one side but all of them, which would benefit and be involved from it.

The installing of Intel report devices in stations that tell players where is a pilot star ship from, to whom is alleged and to whom squadron belongs to.
Such intel reports would be accessible from the bottom panel in the UI screen in Terminals (from both by star ship or by pilots directly at terminals).
This will be made available by making the bottom "ship passing through the system" interactible, and not only bringing info in a "by dymensional" way as is is now (including now also ship that just pass through the system).

This will limit the info only if the ship is "caught" into landing in a station where such intel reporting tools are located.

This will be amazing playstyle and role as players will be able to set a max of 2-3 of such devices per pilot.
This could require however to buy Odyssey or at least not to be divisive for those who do not want to buy it, to be installable also from the Starship, but limiting the accuracy of the information since from Starship such intel reporting would be installable ONLY onto a NAV BEACON.

This would revive also the NAV beacon use and meetings as to install such thing one will need 1 minute at least, in order for such cool "sort of hacking" procedure to be happening.

Instead, to intall it "on foot" by a settlement or station you will have to disembark and find a specific spot by the ship (before a concourse) or also on ground by the ship landing slots in medium small landing settlements.

THE ADVANTAGE of odyssey is that such report will be much much more specific as those intalling on NAV BECON will be able to not SCREEN "the Noise" (however this is relative if such objective is what is desired by the installing commanders) of any ship specific info, while instead the settlement\stations ports installing will LIMIT TO WHO LANDS in such locations the reports with very specific ID report on who is who.

This will however go down after XX hours from the installation.

This will influence anyone on ANY level CaliforniASOLOrPrivate Commanders and of course Open ones.

Such thing will make a NEW ROLE COME TRUE, the covert operations also involving Kaine and any other power will be possible as people will also obtain information on who is entering a system, and this will be important on BGS but also on PP level, for internal info but also for Anti Opposition forces purpose.

Such suggestion again brings a Intelligence report to become TRIDIMENSIONAL and be accessible for 2-3 days (48-72 hours) before having to resintall this.

Such tools which require some seconds or minutes to be installed by the Starship on Nav becon (for limited level of detail report, non much granular type of it) and on Starport pre concourse and Medium and Small settlement for Pilots directly will make the game much deeper and interesting, BUT WILL COST to be made.

A SYNTHESIS NEW ENTRY will be needed in the Ship RIGHT PANEL module or be bought from the commander in stations (for Horizon)
Same can be done for Odyssey pilot (Synthesis and then equip it from inventory once on ground) or buy it from Shops in Stations .. before going to apply it\them.

Maximum of 2 or 3 per commander will be installable at the same time.

There could be also counters to such items installation or disabling by reaching NAV BEACONS or changing status of security, or on ground by going to look if such intelligence report tools have been installed ...

However reports will become Tridimensional for a limited time with whole this thing instead of Bidimensional, and strategy and players interaction would become even if at a distance possible and more concrete, instead to keep players unnaturally distant.

I want to say that I am aware of third party tools but this is not a place to discuss that, nor they can be considered a solution.
And it's not in game information accessible. as this suggestion (original post) talks about stuff to do\be added in game.
Also Inara does but that is indeed a third party tool and often not accessible are the accounts


I am also aware of the cool functionalities: however it requires to be in front of the screen for some time and not move off from the station.
Checking the UI bottom intel will generate info onto some limited number people account and be able to trace their doings.

So this addition would be benefitting the game depth and potential for actual intel\cover and so on operations and also be creating a "For intel\ and against intel" gameplay, so basically a Intelligence and Counter-intelligence experience available.
 
Dear Frontier Development Laboratories, an update from Para Terra Labs, and the members of the United People of Para:

Such system could be limited instead to 2-3 per pilot to a max of 3-4 intel gathering "Nav beacon"\intel gathering units (for a system) in total PER FACTION.

Such tool would allow to
-develop a new role of Police investigation
-it will curb on the HUGE issue of people that would like Open to be more valuable (so called Hotel California thing) and would still be inclusive to all player as all will be affected by it, it will reduce the lack of transparency the gameplay has with huge effects on the choices and experiences of player, removing the power of gameplay cheating and others who simply cannibalize gameplay with non transparent behavior (they have the right to have, but that shall be counterable!)
-allows players to enjoy a new minigame layer
-it should not be hard to program
-it exploits the UI system in full not needing strange "new animations" or heavy art creation and programming
-it uses the assets of the game, data you hold in your servers and our profile files
-you would allow the player to set such investigations probing modules into a nav beacon, this would be also counterable or hackable (if detected) so also counter-play is possible!
-if someone enter a system (a conflict zone) and is tracked then next missions they take might have been tainted and bugged and will lead to a rdv that the "Police" setting the intel gatherer wanna show up at.
-if such trap system won't work, or the caught player won't get to the place (where the police will be told to go to) but the police has solved the "minigame" of Identification of the target involved in misdeeds, still there will be outcomes, involving already active systems\mechanics in game such as:
--- system security will raise
--- the police side (will still obtain ship ID, Stellar time of the entry, and a few other things
--- a monetary reward by a Contacts service present in a Station UI Starport services where such intel nav beacon has been placed.

Such meeting will for example allow for the player to find out where the wrong doer will go on a mission or to take a reward and thus try to meet them, leading to a possible chase or even just at least knowing who is who, who is behind specific actions.

Way in which such system will work is Use of the BARS (aka developing more interest for ODYSSEY that even if I am against to forcing people to buy in order to have some new content working for them, should be chained to OWNING ODYSSEY --> monetary entries for Forntier Developments).

Bars will have a contact that will be named once the "police" playing player will manage to win the minigame.
Player that is investigating will be directed to reach a bar of a station and find out the contact
such contact will give information about the possible location of the trap.

Such information and investigation might last even weeks or months ( considering some players do not play every day nor every week), this will ensure there is no real way to CHEAT OUT SUCH SYSTEM and investment of the player not only of the Frontier Developments update including such Interl Gathering new system, but will also make sure stories are created...

After all no case is solved immediately, many cases find out the solution long time after they have been opened.

I will update such topic if I have clearer information from the United People of Para and Para Terra Labs.
