Interception evasion

What the hell is going on during interception evasion?

I have both rings blue and constantly almost exact match to the escape vector, then all of a sudden HUD get all jerky for a couple of seconds, no way to tell what's where, then all settles down and I discover that escape vector just did 180 and is currently behind my back!

The entire mechanism is broken completely. I thought it was just me but theres loads of people who suffer spinning or juddering interdiction problems. It was a bug introduced during a gamma build back in November 2014 that they cant nail down (they are aware of it though according to correspondence I've had with support).

Interdictions keep breaking/failing on me. I drop the stick and submit and next thing I know I am free and clear through no actions of my own. This happens maybe 20% of the time lately.

Weird!

I get that also, just thought it was a glitch my ship had when struggling to bring the other ship out of SC.

yep its been happening to me more and more constantly.... One interdiction evasion goes nice and smooth and the next, go from straight at escape vector to an instant 90* angle and the screen/HUD starts vibrating/bouncing back and forth and in a matter of seconds the evasion fails

you still recive and send information to the main server... thats how NPCs spawn and thats how the game works in genral

Dude, are you kidding me? I did write the built-in in-game traffic indicator shows 0! Main server doesn't care what happens in my instance so long as I'm solo.

Nice to know I'm not the only one affected. And also sad.

Traffic definitely still flows back and forward from the server in solo (shows on the CTRL+B hotkey). It is more pronounced as you move from one system to another, but there is a gentle tick of information in SC.

For crying out loud, guys, stop writing before checking it yourself! Watch it during intercepts in solo! Surprise - it's zero!

There is a flow of information between the solo player and the server, this is because even in solo play the player can effect the same galaxy as open play. Check the massive debate on this in another thread its been raging on since pre-alpha and is getting old. The connection to the server from solo is minimal at most and the player hosts the game instance which reduces lag. This is probably why you don't see the stuttering in solo as much. But there is a flow of information as the server still needs to know what the player has done, is doing and where they are.

Obviously you can't read. I even made it in bold - during intercepts - but there's no getting to you, you keep proving to me there is a traffic flow. Look, I KNOW there's a traffic flow even in solo, but I'm talking about INTERCEPTS!!!

Ive had it a few times, occasionally its to your benefit as you pretty much insta-win and then in other times the shoe is on the other foot.

If lag isnt the cause, then it looks like two interdiction minigames happening at the same time - where one game decided to go one direction and the other in a different one. The HUD going crazy being the oscillation between the two games.

I had that happen near a star, right as I was pulling out of a scoop.

I assumed the interdicting ship spun into the star. I've certainly come perilously close to flinging into stars and planets many times while tethered.
