Interesting DSS Effect

Using the DSS I found a planet having a crashed Thargoid site. Not a new one; there was even a tourist beacon in orbit for it, but it was new to me.

It was in darkness so I decided to return later for a better look, hopefully in daylight. I went back in a different ship - which didn't carry a DSS. The site wasn't in my Navigation panel.

Going back again with a DSS, there was the crash site again. It looks like things discovered by DSS are only marked while you have a DSS.

This was annoying at the time but on reflection I think it's not a bad idea. Apologies to anyone who found all this obvious.

Completely and totally unrelated but your story reminded me of what is, that I recall, my biggest ED let-down.

Somewhere/somehow I got the location for a, reported to be, very mysterious surface ruin.
Certainly alien (looking back I think it was the very first Guardian find) and everyone was talking and wondering what mysteries it may contain. Never did anything with alien anything up to that point so I talked myself into being all excited and wondering what coolness I would find. Fitted out a ship and went for it.
Upon arrival (after playing the old long/lat game) I finally find it looking all scary and creepy in the dim light. Close in slowly ready for anything. First contact? Great treasure? Alien tech?
Get closer with sweaty palms and get a surface contact! This is it!
Turn and lock onto it to find...a tourist beacon!! Yessir, I was quite deflated.

I just wish FDev would have gone full QoL and added the DSS to the rest of the built-in utilities. I mean it's a class 1 module. Kind of a waste. One can only hope!
