Newcomer / Intro Intermediate/Advanced Exploration Ship Build

Hi all, this is it - my final load out before I venture out into the deep. Sorry gotta use EDSY instead as the loadout didn't export properly on coriolis - did this via inara.

I always have a heatsink launcher fitted - you prolly won't ever need it but if you do, you will be glad it was there

Some people seem to like the SCA module - I think it is a waste of space - your choice

Only other thing might be a small mining laser - lets you get materials from 'roids if necessary.

One other thing comes to mind - why fit an ADC - standard DC would do just as well.
 
You're not serious with that ADC vs DC question, are you?

I don't understand your question.

The only real question is do you want to use a slot for a DC. If you are out exploring then OK the DC might be useful on return (if you want) but why use an advanced one? You are not going to be undocking from anything so why choose that version?
 
My point is, you're nitpicking the build.
If you use the slot for a computer then use the computer that does twice as much. It auto launches you and auto lands you.
Same slot.
Same weight (0T).
Negligible power draw (0.06 MW).
It will be turned off most of the time.
I can answer your last question. You will be undocking from the station where you buy the module.
And yes, I'm nitpicking your nitpicking so there's that.
 
I think @Para Handy was just expressing his opinion on the build and what he would do. On the ADC, yes, you'll undock using it once you've bought it but, I think - and I may be wrong - PH was just saying you won't really need it during an exploration stint. You won't need the standard DC either.
 
Without the stupid ADC and supercruise assist that no explorer needs and you'll probably never use, you can get an additional AFMU for more neutron star jumps. I thought everybody ditched those two things at the first stop after leaving Coehlo Station. Why anybody would want them on an explorer ship has me absolutely mystified!

Also, you can can go down to a 2A poweplant and get an extra LY of jump, even with a heatsink laucher added.
