Those were regular reaction drives, not superluminal or space-warping in any way like the FSD. Point at planet and thrust for a week or so. It didn't take that long for the player, since it was a single-player game and you could speed up the simulation which you can't do in multiplayer for obvious reasons.Frontier: Elite II and Frontier: First Encounters games.
Basically they were FA-off engines without an arbitrary speed limit.
