Interview with SDC about Salome.

Man, jsut the tone :) What a bunch of self important, elitist twits.
If they werent ordered to kill her then i guess that makes them predictable patsies instead of stooges :)

Completely off topic, but I have to point out that your avatar bears striking resemblance to Amos from The Expanse

Wandering off topic a bit more ... well, I never knew about this Amos character. The avatar is as close to me as Holo-Me and my slider twiddling patience can manage. Although for some reason it will not save the customization values for nose bridge properly - whenever I exit holo-me and look at my avatar in cockpit the nose looks like Charles Dierkop's. I suppose I could ticket it but ... meh.

End of meander.

So, claims they weren't acting in an Elitist manner...

Then explains how 99% of players are Not Gud, were a waste of their resources and should have just stood home with their delusions of grandeur. Sad to see, really.

Facts are facts, unfortunately. One person in an instance who will die displaces someone who can kill. On a protection mission, that's dumb.

Most of the in-game events up until this point were exploration focused. I suck at exploring, but I didn't complain, I helped. It's nice to have something PvP related.

Excuse me if I don't believe, care about or take notice of anything that anyone from SDC says, about anything, ever. Of course, they won't care that I don't care......but then again, if my not caring gets me on their KoS list (if I'm not there already) maybe they do care after all?

lol there kos list is as much of a joke as the group itself. this isn't eve they cant touch ya if you dont want them to.

An assumption based on no data is not a fact. Players were turned outout of the discord as I understand. Why? Because nobody knew who they were? SDC didnt like their loadouts? So players came out on the promise anyone could make a difference were bullied away because SDC were allowed to arbitrate who they thought was good enough to tag along? And this does not smack of elitism?

We needed the defense of Salome to be competent but not TOO competent because we still needed a window to get the kill. Worked out flawlessly on our end.

Sorry but that doesn't make sense, why did they need to be anywhere near competent? I get why SDC didn't want the defense force to be too competent but not the need for them to be somewhat competent.

Well, I don't really get why all this "thing" arround SDC action there . They failed , period .

They killed the bait , they ate the bait . 3 other conspirators made the move to their destination and delivered the message . Failure.

I don't say I did best , I didn't . But they are all alike . 3 of 4 made the race , failure .

People were not 'turned away' for having crappy builds or unknown names, they left in a huff because they didn't want to on a team. People were trying to bring barely engineered Pythons and AspEs and silly things like that. They were told to join the interdictor squads, and they cracked the sads and came to the forums to cry about getting kicked out. The leaders PAC were often rightfully short with people because of the staggering number who can't read things like sticky posts.

Barely engineered Pythons and AspE's!
How stupid of them to think they could help and contribute in their ships eh? Ships they worked for and bought. Just to try to help! Dummies! What were they thinking? They weren't cool enough to hang with you guys! Pathetic!
Lucky you didn't need their worthlessness stinking up space as the Elite PvP'ers took care of Salo...oh wait. Never mind.

Gotta get your facts straight, PAC didn't protect Salome. CoR did, they're explorers, not PvPers. Going to start insulting them as a mass too? :p

I was on the PAC discord and to be the PvPer role you either had to be a very well known PvPer or pass a PvP try out. I did the latter and winged up with PalCon pvpers once I had passed.

I flew almost 18,000 LY's overnight straight through to sort of not be a part of things. I stumbled blearily into Teorges allied with the defenders with a plan to pull a double cross Salome if she made it that far. So I guess I'm kind of a Explorer/Pvper hybrid. I don't need any ridiculous test to tell me how incompetent I am!

I never saw her, though, damn you SDC! Damn yoooooooooo!

Elite will suffer as long as everything need to be managed and organized by players and completely with out any in game tools to help in this. If the game had support to host events like this or even simplistic real player faction system/ way to organice/form player group in game, then there would be no problems. Like ability to tag more than 3 players to be on your side. What PAC did was the only way to have any kind of organized defense that could actually work. If they had done it other vice it would have been just be huge free for all fight and not fight between 2 parties. This is the best they could do with tools frontier has given to players. This event is perfect showcase why we need better tools for players to form groups and represent their group in game and how important player group tools are for the game.

P.S. its funny how player here on forums are so vocal how you are just one pilot in this universe and that you are not hero or significant factor, but then they rage because their role was just that in this event. They after all all want to be the hero and others being the random, meaningless cmdr

I didn't participate in this event in any way, but I have posted at length about the need for better social tools in the game. However, having read about this event, I've actually changed my stance. If this sort of elitist exclusionary behaviour is what we can expect from the existing groups, I'd prefer if FD didn't waste their time on tools to facilitate wannabe Generals.
