I did, before VR. On AH-IPS.
It depends on whether you are referring to actual IPS glow, which typically appears at ~45° angles, or backlight bleeding. As for backlight bleeding - assuming your screen is edge-lit - all you can do really is to reduce brightness.
If you're talking about real IPS glow, reducing brightness will do some good, too, but you may also adjust your distance from the screen to make the edge-to-edge viewing angle narrower. So, sit farther away, essentially.
The closer you move your eyes to the screen, the more glow you will see.
I don't really know of any better ways to reduce the effect I'm afraid. I wish there were some really good S-PVA 16:10 screens these days....
