Had a neat early morning hike today, and while I live in pretty mild area (wildlife wise) I was pleasantly surprised with Kestrels, Pheasants and one large Hare.

Also for the first time in my life I saw European Bee-Eaters and their earth nests. It was beautiful seeing their colors shine against rising sun.

(No animals on the pic, just wanted to share the atmosphere)

Being in Miami and Fort Lauderdale this week has been a fun little adventure with both native and non native wildlife. I wasn’t aware there was a resident feral population of escaped parrots and parakeets here. Saw two orange-winged parrots on my walk this morning. The photo didn’t turn out at all as they took flight when I got close enough to catch them on camera. Hoping to see one of the 20 or so blue and gold macaws too! Northern curly Tailed lizards are all over the place. This one stayed perfectly still for me to get a nice shot.

Tomorrow I’m headed to Zoo Miami and I am STOKED!!!
