Is a stealth python or conda even feesable?

Good question. Considering the size of these two ships and the amount of hardware they use, I doubt you could cool them down enough for a truly stealth profile. I own both, but have never tried, assuming that they are just too big and too powerful to totally remove their rather large heat signatures.

concerning heat i can tell you from both ships they can run very cool if you use smaller a class powerplants. a python will run under 20% heat with a class 4.

but autoresolvedistance will be much smaller for shipsize, and it will be very easy targets for fixed weapons...

i know some people run stealth-clippers, though

Hmm I fly a python as my main ship currently, and I have tried stealth, but it seems kinda weak, smuggling is mainly done with speed, though I would also guess that it is because a lot of police around stations are small ships so their sensors resolve bigger ships rather easily?

I have to agree, im sure you could attempt to stealth them abit, but not really the ships for it, but it would be intresting to see what people could come up with without defeating the overall usefullness of said ships.

I smuggle in an anaconda these days. Not sure if its a stealth ship as it has a shield. It runs at around 16% to 20% heat. Never seen it higher than 20%.

Paint the bridge like a sidewinder...cover the rest in a starry sheet.

"Oh, um officer...nothing here, just a small insignificant sidey passing through...ha, ha, k"

I dock at about 150 give or take. I dont speed land. I just look out for stuff and make sure my approach is good, use cover and listen to the comms chatter, check radar, power down some bits n pieces and stuff. Smuggling stuff. Ya know.

Stealth conda is possible I tried . Its not preferred as the shields take forever to come back online. I was able to get my anaconda to run at 12% with everything but thrusters turned off without silent running.

To be "Stealthy" all you need to do is get below 20% heat and stay there. Though why you'd want to do that in a ship as large and an Anaconda or Python which are easy to see without the hud marking them and thus easy to hit while using your weapons in a fixed mode is beyond me. You'd also be shortchanging the ships of one of their best traits, their shield. So I would not suggest using it for stealth combat

For smuggling however, yes it's very do able as long as you stay below 20% heat + use silent running + stay outside 500m range of any ships. At 500m ships are detected regardless of how "Stealthy" they may be.

They also have very good radiators to dispose of the heat

That is a misconception, bigger ships have bigger sensor modules which give better range which detect things more easily. Smaller ships have smaller sensors which are weaker. However an Anaconda for example is quite easy to spot with the naked eye (AI are AI and they don't 100% rely on their sensors) and any ship within 500m of you can detect you regardless. Think of it as an Auto-detect range.
