Shows how much you misunderstand the WoI and my stance.
It was made to counter "Open Only" arguments and content locking, as they were never part of the original design we bought.
Even PP was given to us under the idea anyone in any mode could do it.
I have no issue with PvP, as I do consensual PvP in many games (Star Trek Online, Warframe) including Elite.
I even play some PvP only games (World of Tanks / Warships, Fortnite etc...)
The Woi was born out of forum trolls screaming for the removal of the mode system long before you were around.
So I started collecting information and posting it, over and over and over.
You should look at early versions of it in first SOG thread, you wouldn't recognize it, lol.
@Kari
It was the Engineers Live Stream (which is on the WoI) at 42:43 onwards.
Yeah but you gotta understand they arent trolls either jockey. They have good intentions. They recognize the problems in the game. People have been bringing up these issues for a long time. Especially griefing.
The wrong people are dying. People should be dying over objectives. And when people remove themselves intentionally to complete those objectives. That removes the competition.
I understand thats how it came. But at the end of the day we all love the game.
Its not about trolling, or just wanting to shoot hollow squares and give everyone a bad time.
We're closer to agreement about things than you think. I understand thats not how the game was made. But a few restrictions to fix a huge problem would be really healthy for the game, the community and peoples attitudes in and out of the game as well.
I understand not liking the idea. And thats totally okay to disagree from how it was designed. But sometimes those things need to happen.
Wouldnt you rather the right people die? Over the wrong people dying all the time. Trust me its not fun for us either. We fight each other for a challenge instead.
But it would be really nice to fight over objectives and keep people honest. I think thats needed the most right now.
And if that ever happens. Griefing will slowly die by giving PVP a purpose. Its a good thing I promise dude. But we need to use the current frameworks to make it happen. Too much of the game revolves around it.
