Remember when in beta we use to jump near Freeport to the Res site and just shoot each other with no consequences, not worrying about insurance/ship lost and so on - that was excellent fun as far as I remember.
I see lots of negativity regarding upcoming CQC and my question is - istn cqc pretty much the same thing? You can jump to it just for some fast pew pew, its outside of the main game so you dont need to worry about your precious grinded money.
Think of it as it was Freeport just before the wipe
If it works without bleeding into the wider galaxy I see no problems. Arena sports have always been big and why not in the future? The money from this should help fund other projects as well. I do think it would be cool long term for various places to bid to host tournaments and to have system traffic and trade increase memtarily at those locations, similar to a World Cup or Super Bowl.
