Is east of the bubble(towards witch head nebula), part of blocked off system space?

I'm having a huge navigation issue with the galaxy map, and jump points leading near/around the witch head nebula are non-existant(nomatter the Z level). It's too clos to the core for this to even be mathmatically possibs, so is the area part of the blocked off systems or is there some kind of glitch with the map.

Bloody hell, It's got to be a meme at this point, why are navcoms always messing up lol. Out of all the things they could've replicated from Scifi shows/movies, why this.

Background: decided the Bubble was exceedingly boring, and decided that I should sate my thirst for the stars as a Space Aesthetic and go out in my new Conda for some pictures for the kids. Opened the map, saw Witch Head, thought "Oh jeez, this looks close" and made to what I shall forever call the Great Wall of Permits. Out towards this way, it seems every Col Sector system requires an unknown permit, and me (as a budget explorer) found that these systems surrounded the stars of the WHN structure, and nowhere does there seem to be a jump spot from the safely passable Synuefe Sector Systems to the stars of WHN.

Ok thanks sigh.
I've never been there (yet). I'm just not that interested atm.
I've heard that plenty of players have already, so don't dispare. I did a lil dig'n and you can follow up on it more if you want. Check out the dinky link below for further examination.
It's very easy to get into that neck of woods, there is a known path directly through the wall of space from the blue HIP star (23759 iirc?) right above Witch Head nebula and straight through to the small cluster of systems by nebula Messier 78 (the Trapezium stars you were talking about). Straight shot through the permit wall, just make sure to bookmark them.
And you definitely can get to Barnards Loop, I've explored it thoroughly in my ASPex.

Bah ok(I actually tried vectoring around it, but the entire Quadrant seems to be locked, couldn't get clost to Bernard's loop either, meh.

What makes it suck all the more, is there's like half a dozen Nebulas, the before mentioned black hole, some interesting dfark matter/void spot, and such. I he got in through the literal back, sounds like it woulb be easier to go to colonial/cut past the core first, and then go there, instead of trying to skirt the edge which is a pain to say the least

Are the developers ever going to tell us what there plans are for that area? It has been confirmed, while they don't show up on the map, if you type a place you know is there, it will go to it(such as "Rigel" ), so we know the area actually exists, It's not just art. That's a insanely large area to block off.

Lol, definitely don't cut past the Core first, Sag A* is about 25,000 ly in the wrong direction.

Look, one of the best things about this game is that it actually manages to somewhat convey the sheer enormity of space. There are tens of thousands of systems in the Bubble, but it's absolutely tiny if you zoom way out to the scale of the galaxy. Orion looks far away at first , but it's basically next door. An important mindset for getting around in ED is to keep distance in perspective. A few hundred light years is in fact a very different thing than a few tens of thousands.

Now to more practical advice - the Orion region is surrounded by a shell of locked systems. Think of it like a lumpy onion. Named sectors are spherical (as opposed to the generated sectors that are cubes). The outermost sector around Orion, Col 70 Sector, is locked. But most of the sector spheres inside it are not. So the easiest thing to do, that doesn't require any traveling, is to scroll along the galaxy map and note places where stars of interior sectors come very close to the outside of Col 70, such as near the Witch Head, or where interior sectors poke through and completely override the Col 70 lock, as mostly happens on the far side from the Bubble. Once you decide what path you want to take, drop bookmarks like breadcrumbs on systems you can reach, and plot your route from one bookmark to the next rather than asking the navigation to compute your entire route in one go.

This is one of the better maps I've seen.

But regardless, I look at this and just ask FD... WHY? Just do something with these locked areas already :/

I didn't mean in would be fast, but time would be better spent, then slowly scraping the sides, hoping to get around it.

Good is, I could probally traveling 5k ly on my massive tank of fuel alone, before needing to use the scoop to refuel(lol such a massive tank lol).

Yea, the left dide of the bubble, I found is also locked. Well no choice but to go north first.
If you find the right distance from the plane you can scoot right inside.

Alternatively if you find the right spot you only need a very ordinary jump range of about 25ly to jump from Synuefe right over Col 70 and in to Witch Head.

The where and how to get around some areas are on a "Need to know bases". Apparently player don't need to know.

I needed to go visit Witch Head anyway, so thought I might as well do this;

Stock Cobra Mk III (no engineered components, no FSD booster) and ~25 ly jump range:

An example jump from Synuefe to Witch Head, straight over the Col 70 boundary:

So a route to Witch Head would be: Lave --> Synuefe DH-T D4-10 --> Witch Head Sector HR-W D1-12 --> Shenve.

Which is roughly 50 jumps.

From Witch Head you can plot right down towards the centre of Barnard's Loop.

Wow that's one fast cobra lol, and cool thanks.

With stock components, yes.
Engineering changes things a lot.
For example my exploration Asp goes 366 and boosts 496 with 5D thrusters, but I've done quite a bit of engineering on the components.

Ah yes, I have that very Synuefe DH-T system bookmarked as a navigation aid. I believe it's the shortest jump that crosses the Col 70 wall. Very useful when shifting bulk cargo to the WHN.
