Is is possible to lower the left and right panels for the Ship and SRV?

Is it possible to lower the left and right panels (and their respective trigger) by around 80-100% of their height? This would allow an unimpeded view out of the cockpit windows while still making the automatic pop-up function useful.

I play in the Oculus Rift and find that if I look left or right while keeping my line of sight level, the relevant panel pops up blocking my field of view.
While this is annoying if I'm searching for an enemy ship, visually monitoring the ground or simply admiring the landscape, it also causes me to lose control of the ship/srv because my controls then operate the panel and not the vehicle.

The matter has been discussed in the following threads, but the "solution" so far seems to be using keybinds instead of the automatic pop-up function (or Voice Attack).

That is not a viable solution because:
1. it makes the whole automatic pop-up function redundant
2. it uses up 3 key combinations which are fairly limited on a game controller, and I would prefer to use them for something more practical
3. if I'm intending to use the panel, I'm going to be looking in that direction anyway so it is far more practical to have my head position activate the panel as it currently does.

I have Voice Attack and could use it as recommended in one of the threads, but a verbal command is much slower than just looking in the required direction. I've also started playing ED with RL friends so I'm trying to use VA as little as possible.

The Imperial Courier has it perfect, you have to look left / right then down for the virtual screens to pop up, with the AspX I tend to glance up slightly (then just eyeball down), which stops the popup and in the SRV I lock the central monitor whilst driving around - means I can't use any commands but does give you unimpeded views all around.
I think Fdev are aware of it but I imagine it's quite low on their list of things that need fixing unfortunately. It's a shame we can't disable the virtual screens in just the SRV cause for me that's the most annoying, just slightly glancing off centre can pull up a monitor (exaggeration for effect).

What I so, in the srv as well as the Eagle is to use just one keybind, to the panel between your legs. If you have that panel open when you don't need to target anything you can look around to your hearts content without triggering the sidepanels.

I personally turn off the "panel look"

I hate panels popping up every time i turn my head in combat. I use voice attack or a simple button combo to open them.

Since you likely find those solutions unacceptable........try sinking DOWN in your chair and then resetting the headsets position with the F12 key. When you sit up straight your head will be up slightly higher making everything else ( including those panels) slightly lower.
