Is it me, or the Artemis suit is the best stealth/ninja/hitman suit hidden behind "exobiology"?

Effectively, all suits have an ability to jump, and the mod improved jump assistance increases it. The main limiter is the gravity.

Speed/sprint seems to be the same for all suits, but definitely there are differences in jump ability.
Did some timekeeping with all 4 suits (including pilot's suit), from that plant to my SRV and reverse to double check, keeping running after stamina exhaustion, on each case that is roughly 28s for the 155m all the same for every suit, same stamina duration, same speed.
So an average little less than 20kph sprint included.

Made it running without sprint, it's little less than 15kph, 38s for 155m.
And walking: 1min42s, little less than 5.5 kph.

(And I think I had that false impression of a faster Artemis because mine is the only suit I have with "improved combat speed" for when ADS plus its better vanilla jump.)

thank you very much for that research! :giggle: 🌷 But one thing we can't argue about - is that different suits feels different still, - I remember that from wearing Domya in one of the conflict zones, so you are not totally wrong here :D

You're welcome. Yes, the overall feeling with factors combined gives that sense, plus I kinda like sometimes for the sake of fun trying my luck with something that is not the more efficient option on paper, see if I can manage anyway, and sometimes you find out you're doing fine with it so less likely to worry about having the best stuff every time with you.

And I like the RP element, so that an anonymous exobiologist with a handgun only is less likely to trigger suspicions while doing some undercover dirty job in a remote small lab than the badass merc heavy armour with a pair of rocket launchers on their back. That's kinda silly, I know!

(Same with ships, eveything has been done and calculated, but I like to try my own stupid things no matter what so I learn better that way.)

A few updates ago, dominator had much more better jetpack (it had more powerfull thrust), and long as any of 3 suits could equip jump assistance, they could "fly" permamently, provided there was low enough gravity (around 0.12 - 0.13G and less) as jetpacks could launch into such heights, that going back to ground level would take longer than refill jetpack juice. But it was nerfed. Both of dominator and maverick, thrust power went down, and duration as well, so these cant really "fly" anymore. Artemis seems like its weaker too, but it still has duration, that can somewhat beat low gravity.. like less than 0.08G... as anything higher than that, it wont be able to stay mid-air long enough to prevent falling to ground.

Anyway, jump assist on artemis its really making a diffrence. I use mine for any kind of covert/stealth, and even in CZ or assasinations, its kind of combat focused bulid.

Night vision
Extra battery power
Jump assist
Extra ammo

Battery at 25+ MW x3 is really a lot of time with shields on, helps a lot in CZ, where usually it need only one battery used or just once doing recharge per CZ.

Jump assist, as explained above, gives much needed mobility to make it up for loss of defence, and even allows to fly in low G worlds, while on high G worlds, it allows to atleast reach some higher rooftops.

Night vision its very usefull, as even during daytime, there could be dark places covered in shadow, in a lot settlements... while it dont need explain why is usefull when its night time.

Extra ammo is probly one of underrated mods out there, but I use it mainly because I dont fancy being glued to ammo box or need to visit these every few kills, and there are sometimes scenarios where ammo box is out of reach, while being surrounded by hostiles. Lack of ammo is last thing one would want to happen if such thing happen.

While it lacks plasma cutter to open doors, copy profile fixes it (one can always discard it in case of scan or just kill guard), so any kind of covert or stealth or assasination kind of mission, there no better choice of suit. It also have decent backpack space, enough to grab any "rarer" stuff that there is never much than a few in settlements.

It could have one more extra E-breach... that would be nice.

Lol - just turned up to a mission and thought of this thread :ROFLMAO: Back to the Apex!

Oops... No admin wandering near some window* nearby you could clone the access?

Also, one can bookmark a NPC from the nearest outside terminal so they have their location, so I've found, unless missions with empty outposts then they obviously need the cutter, that there is always a way to have access on a crowded facility, but one has sometimes to watch who's where, so they starts from one access to the other, kind of fun puzzle minigame and more risky business, but an other approach.

I've never been stuck with that so far, no need for omnipass or cutter, I may have been lucky, seems like the game doesn't spawn an impossible solution for stealing/assassinations/spying/hacking missions. But sometimes it is way harder whereas the cutter could do the job in seconds.

But if one like to watch them all for minutes like a psychopath hitman hidden on top of a roof, learning guard patterns, employees sometimes coming in and out for a walk, stopping for a few seconds, spotting from terminals where the big dogs are, look for windows, and then eliminate them one by one in silence, there is some sort of order to figure so no guard come across a dead fellow, no alarm triggers.

When one has the right access, the terminal can also give the location of the alarm terminal than one can bookmark too and tracks with their hud, so they can alternatively work on that too as a priority.

So all of that with Apex, no SRV, no ship, trying avoid scans and so on, with only a plasma pistol and an Artemis, it's kind of a different gameplay with the minimal stuff, but I find more rewarding when it works.
(And for when SHTF, you can only rely on a tuff battery to leave the perimeter and wait the apex landing away from the pad, because of heavy gunfire, instead of a big armour and strong weapons that you 'd stay and fight back without much problems.)

*(I imagine most people know that, but for newer players, this works through glass perfectly fine).

Oh!.....thanks for the information (y)
Now where is the nearest stone I can hide under? (to cover my embarrassment! :D)
Edit just checking.....
Play time: 74 Weeks, 3Days 1 hour, 39 minutes.
33.5000 billion credits.
20,334 Systems visited.
Top Rank in all the major naval ranks.

And I didn't know about the jet pack. .....dear me.

Jack :)
Well in your defense, you're not "Jet Packing Jet Flash". You're "Jumpin' Jack Flash". Remember, with the boost, it's the gas gas gas.

PART1
Did an other try on a anarchy threat 3 military installation where i had to eliminate someone, using only the Artemis and Torm, and tried to take some pictures.

1. Spotting every guard patterns. There's a Goliath around but assuming the Tormentor in use is silenced indoors/outdoors, and no alarm is triggered, it won't bother you at all.
Also, there's often at least one NPC getting out and standing by forever because he has missions to offer. You have to take care of them because they can see you eliminating the patrols.

Now, let's start eliminating them, those on the roofs are first. You can let them start their analysis and pop the Torm, shot at this moment, Torm in the holster. They are caught the pants down, point-blank, no shields, hands busy with the analyser.
5.jpg

6.jpg

Then, let's proceed with the outside perimeters first, they are left alone in unfrequented corners. And so on, until the center of the facility. Here, you must watch for random civilians/guards going in and out from buildings that can come across the bodies, but you took a few minutes to look after that at first, so no surprises here.

You must take care that those bodies should be in dead corners. Here, two examples in building corners so no one can spot them from the windows, or even doors opening.
8.jpg

7.jpg

Sometimes as you are ending your eliminations, it may come harder to properly hide them, so if there is one or two last guards approaching dangerously your clues, just jump in front of them: he's going to scan you, kill him at this moment.

Now that the outside is quiet, you can proceed to the building themselves. At least one of the dead bodies out there has a level 1 access you can copy.

So here we are at the cafeteria: 3 civilians, so none of them is going to scan you. That's a tricky moment when you have to eliminate them all before they trigger the alarm, but they have no armour and handguns only. Keep them close, pop the Torm (take care there's a full mag on it!).
9.jpg

Congrats, now you have a level 2 access.
10.jpg

That may be enough for you to have the location of what/who you are looking for, or locate at least who's having the level 3, and so on.
I put the map marker thing so my next objective is shown on my hud, let's go to security side then.
11.jpg

to be continued...

PART2
So here, I am looking for a window like this:

14.jpg

The top dogs are often found here, near the important security consoles. Here is my level 3 access loading...
15.jpg

...now, I can tick everything from the computer, as for example here, the alarm button.
16.jpg

We proceed inside. Here, at restricted area, you can sometimes just lay just before the door so you don't trigger them but can gather some intel on who's doing what (provided you have the right level so the door opens)
17.jpg

Sneak until the alarm, from now, they are condemned: almost no guards left, and no reinforcements to expect.
18.jpg

...and here's my mission target done.
19.jpg

You can cut everything down if needed, but without the alarm, defenses souldn't bother you just like the friendly Goliath.
21.jpg

From here, you can bring the SRV and Mav suit if you want to loot every containers.
26.jpg

Now it's a ghost town, no survivors, no power left, but you made a new friend, so don't forget to say hi to Goliath who couldn't care less, and leave the place.
27.jpg

Of course this is not the quickest most efficient way of doing things, but it's for a change and for fun. Although it happened to me that for simple assassinations, just going with Apex, copying an admin level 3 directly from building windows, sneaking close to the restricted area, and have a quick window to my target so i poped them with the Torm could take me a couple of minutes without no further casualties, no hacktools, no shield powered, etc, that is very satisfying.
So, yeah, if you want to, give this a try, go ill-equiped with a (powerful and silenced) handgun and have fun!
