It's real, but Elite dangerous is very close. I found this while randomly looking at youtube.

Its really interesting to compare. On one level, Elite can produce something remarkable close. On the other had, as the Earth has been my home for the last, er, many, decades, its impossible for me to watch that without thinking the staggering complexity of whats happening on the surface of that planet - not only the bio-diverstity, but the history, the geopolitics etc.

If its Elite Dangerous you know its full on garbage but it looks really nice. The only simulation that punishes you for trying to manipulate it.
