These is my feelings on this request;

"No, NO, and for the third time NO! The Python is the BEST all round ship in the game. Yes, it can get beaten by other vessels, but there is (currently) no other ship that has such a wide range of capabilities. Will people PLEASE stop asking for the Python to be nerfed? I would suggest that the next person who asks finds that their account is nerfed, and every ship they own is crippled! "

Also, please check the third link in my signature for my feelings on buffing/nerfing things.

A pity the Clipper isn't a true alternative to the Python with it not being able to land on medium pads. Looks like a lot of commanders rate being able to get stuff done when they get there over speed.

Personally I'm tired of seeing about 4 or 5 ships counting for 80% of traffic to community goals stations each week. But maybe I should wait to see if Horizons changes the dynamics. No medium pads problems at least and there are now two more alternatives to the Anaconda.

Also I think I'm forgetting how big the original January Python nerf forum **** storm was. Another Python nerf simply isn't going to happen. Perhaps better to focus on getting other ships buffed.

If one particular ship is the all-round best, that would be exactly why some are calling for a rebalance.

Choosing a ship that specialises in a role should not give you worse results in that role than an all-purpose ship, otherwise there isn't the incentive to specialise. Rebalancing doesn't cause a significant negative effect, since anyone can fly any ship (barring Federation/Empire rank and financial requirements), but encouraging specialism creates a wider variety of ships out there. Surely that's a good thing?

You can get a Clipper now on discount for 15.1Mil that will outperform a T7 and cost much less than a Python, if trading is your thing.

Sad to be the one to tell you, but the "coronation event" is over and done with- back to having a rank in order to buy one.

Fly safe and read the Galnet

Well I'd argue that we will have to wait and see how things play out with the introduction of the cutter and vette which will both be tankier and have more firepower than the python while also being faster than the conda.

As it stands, the python is a rather unique ship and will remain so even after 1.5. The reason I say this is not based on design or weapon layout, but rather it's overall size and the c7 distributor that it carriers. It is also only surpassed in speed and Agility by 3 of the 5 size comparable crafts while out tanking and out shooting all of them. The ship also has a FA/off drift speed of 260 m/s w/o boost which is extremely useful in terms of defensive pvp options. It is priced higher than all comparable ships in terms of base hull and especially full fit which is the current justification. My major question is how well the python will perform once there are ships with more weapons and larger distributors capable of going well in excess of 260 m/s, something that the conda currently cannot do.
