Travel out too void opal mine I use a min of 35 jumps but bare in mind I have already bookmarked the locations . it can be hit and miss but that's what real life is all about but I suggest you explore a bit forst and find the areas before mining there are certain types of planets that tend to be more opal friendly I think they also reset after a given amount of game time

Would you be amenable to sharing your build? When I get back to the bubble in a month and turn in all this scan data, I'm moving back to mining. I do hear the Python is a good choice for this.
50mil in a cutter!!! I do 130mil in a aspx. Takes me a while to find the hotspots. But there you have it.

80 minutes. In, mine and out. I don't have all day too look for niceness
oof. Hr and half isnt alot of time. In the bubble alone it took me 3 hrs to find a rich motherlode spot. And 2 hrs to top off. And a hr to get to when the most credits would come in. Now thats if you are inexperienced. It now takes me a hr a half to find what im looking for. A hr or more to top off. And a good 30 mins to a hr to get to a dam good station to sell. And we are talking 150mil give or take. And that is strictly VOs.
If you are able to lay down 5 hrs of your life. You will strike it rich and even learn the tricks of that trade and be laughing. I have friends who run cutters full tilt on these mining ops. They leave the bubble in a hr. 2 to 3 hrs later top up with 700 VOs. And return trip is a whopping 2 hrs. But they sell at max price. So we are talking a good 6 to 8 hrs for them. But they are rolling in credits. And i personally wouldnt do it.
I suppose in the end its whatever floats your boat. But i figured id give you the friendly advice and such now that they taught me the ropes. And its not easy. But hey millions like these are not meant to be easy and quick. And 50 mil can be a good amount in 80mins.
In 80 mins on long hauls i can make about 80mil in my type 9. And 3 times that amount if all my friends are on for wing missions.
Some wing missions at max rep is about 30 mil a pop.
Yes sir you must have been haha. Few times i have gotten lucky. RNG was never my friend.
Well lets put it this way. If this game and many other MMOs were not a grind. You would beat it same day and quit 3 days later cause there would be nothing to do. Even my friends who have 3 fully upgraded cutters all with different role settings still play. This time thou they do community goals and accumulating funds. Never know with that next big toy that cost a few billion comes around.
I experimented with a DiamondBack Scout the last few days and I pull about on average $8-12 Million a trip on deep core mining VO & LTD'S.. I know its not a big hauler but it has a good little jump range and easy to maneuver around.. and it works.. making more per trip somedays now than my T9.

I was mining void-opals using a Corvette, picking up 383 refined tons at a time, earning a little under a half - Billion credits per run . . . what was the question?
The question was. Or is. Is it worth VO hunting in such a high end ship that cost you a billion to build.
The answer is. If you got the time. Anything will work.
