There have been a few press write-ups over the Alpha - I'm sure they will trigger more when the launch comes. Maybe around the time of the launch video today? Or maybe the reviews will wait until the game goes live tomorrow - not sure if press can get early access as there is only the one galaxy

Stand alone games will always do better than DLCs since people who don’t like the base game - or don’t even play it after they’ve bought it - won’t buy the DLC. (I have some retro games that I have bought on sale cheap and haven’t played on Steam/GOG yet, so I can see how that happens.)

Odyssey isn’t going to get much coverage since FDev has said nothing about Odyssey contents beyond what was in the alpha. It looks they are waiting until the server downtime.

When looking at ign or gamespot upcoming game listing Odyssey is not listed because it's a dlc not a new game.
Not getting the coverage that Odyssey deserves as it is a major upgrade to Elite.
How much sales are being lost ?

Moral of this story is, Do not listen to gamespot.

Given that there are WAY better FPS games out there than EDO, I'd be surprised if it was a much as 0.0028%

Considering it's not a dedicated FPS, I'm not sure how thats relevant.

Don't worry - if the specs haven't changed they'll complain "it should be using more of my super new gfx card, how dare fdev not add ray tracing / DLSS etc etc", so they're covered either way.

But I got a new PC with all that stuff included... what do you mean it won't do anything in Elite... fine I will go play Cyberpunk then (the only game I own that uses that stuff).

Should I get a refund on my PC or the game?

As an iRacing enthusiast, I'd say the SRV still handles better than the dirt oval cars in the former...

If anything it aims at people who would like to do some FPS but can't cope with what the genre is offering for a variety of reasons, old age probably one of them.

If you can't cope with FPS games because of old age, you're not going to cope well with Odyssey either.

Ask me how I know this.
