Is SOL worth the trip

I woke up in my sidey with a SOL and Founders World permits in my log. Now I woke up about 100Ly away from these systems I think, and have been very busy leading my space traveling life and having a great time, so is there any gain of going there any time soon, now i know the sites might be nice to see and nostalgic, but is it worth interupting my grind to a T7 and A Fer De Lance to be a tourist, is there any easy money or some kind of been there got the trophy reward.
I do intend to reach those systems at some future date but it will be as part of a conquering horde.:)

If not then i have two permits to sell:)

i went, i saw, i turned and left....dull as dishwater for me but thats only mho

however im pretty sure you cant sell permits....i may be wrong though

it's a nice system. and you can show all the planets and moons to other people. You have trading, mining and combact. All kind of stations/ships/weapons availables.

It's a pilgrimage, a thing to tick off your own personal to-do list and be able to say you've done it.
But other than that, there's nothing worth buying, no ships worth buying, maybe getting upgrades there as it is a high tech system ... but that's about it.

I think in the sense that you're asking ... no, there's nothing "special" in the SOL system (is there anything special, aside from a few rares and variations in outfitting stock anywhere in the galaxy?) However, in another sense - yes, obviously SOL is very very special indeed. As soon as I was able I made the pilgramage back to SOL and it was the first truly great thing I did in Elite. I actually found it a genuinely profound experience which forever changed my perspective on the scale and majesty of our planet, our solar system and our galaxy. And then I went and did some pew pew. Take time out to stop and smell the flowers occasionally tho' would be my advice.

It is home. The only planet in the galaxy that truly feels 'just right'. That and there's the ancient probes still cruising outwards. Go there at least once. On the way back, visit scenic Hutton Orbital around Alpha Centauri C to pick up some rare goods.

No, it's not worth it. They basically gave us a worthless system as a way of thanking us for backing Beta. The permit systems are a complete sham. Thanks FD for this awesome perk!!!!!!!

My only though would be go to see the station orbiting the moon, Galileo. That place is amazing. It is the only station I have seen so far that is not basically the same as the others. I am sorry that I did not screen shot it.

Beyond that, not really going back. lol Been there done it and now on to the other inhabited planets that are out there.
