I keep getting docking request denied on a lot of stations did they get rid of the docking Queue or is there a setting I need to activate??

2nd question? Is it an outpost? If yes. (What ship?)
If is an outpost, see if there is ship on pad. If npc ( target it and request dock again, it should depart within few seconds like 10ish) If human ship might be afk... So relog to solo? Maybe.
If bigger stations, are you too close? and it say you're trespassing?

It’s most likely a ship on the docking pad I am in a keel back within range so that is most likely the issue thanks!
There is no queue. If a pad is available when asked for one, it is delegated to you, otherwise you are denied.
Docking queues is one of the evergreen feature requests along with things like a "request landing permission" shortcut. NPCs will usually take off again after a moment but in Open/PG with a bunch of other CMDRs waiting this usually devolves into a lottery (in extreme cases it's then easier to just switch over to Solo).

True, though at mainstream "busy" stations you can get caught up in a traffic queue both heading in and out of the station.
