I'm having problems trying to use the FSS - I've tried re-mapping the controls, but I just cannot get the bloomin' thing to discover anything.

You have to honk with the discovery scanner first. Put it in a firegroup. It only works in discovery mode.

I would expect slightly more than 1 thread if that were true - keep trying things & you'll work it out

When you say you can't discover anything, is it not showing arrrows when you are nearing a body? Won't zoom in/out? Are the bodies in the system already discovered? Could you pop us a screenshot?

I suspect @d8veh may have a point with the honking...

You have to honk with the discovery scanner first. Put it in a firegroup. It only works in discovery mode.

If you have not honked first, the FSS screen asks you to press (whatever you have bound) to generate a pulse (as shown in Exigeous's video above).

Thanks guys, I'm an idiot - I wasn't activating the scanner or "honking" properly.
