Honestly we should all just go to UTC.

So what if lunchtime is 3am and it's pitch black in the middle of the day. I'd take that over having to work out what the time is, anywhere else.

Agreed, though I'm still hoping one day this dumb ole country I live in gets its head on straight and goes metric/kelvin (because Celsius is so last century).

You don't have to worry then. Celsius is metric and Kelvin is just the Celsius scale offset to a different zero point.

Not so long ago different towns had different times. It was the Railways that brought them together. At first it was referred to as Railway Time I believe.
