Is the - Lemnis Gate gaming engine - what was used for Odyssey?

Why does it look like the game mechanics of Fdevs new game Lemnis Gate was the foundation for Odyssey? Where the two games designed in parallel?

This would explain why it would appear that the developers of Odyssey did not and have never played Elite Dangerous ever before, and potentially why most of the Mechanics don't necessarily work correctly in Odyssey for Elite Dangerous AND this may be why most of the Community Managers don't actually know what's going on with the Development of Odyssey because they were not intimately involved in the design and development of Lemnis Gate.

Call me a conspiracy theorist but suddenly everything starts to make sense?

If the developers are going to copy and paste code, why didn't they do it the other way round, and release first Lemnis Gate, sorting out all the bugs and issues, and then implementing that Source Code into Odyssey?

Instead what it looks like is they've taken a long-standing game (ED) and have reverse engineered that from new game development, and used it as a test the new game.
Maybe it's just me, but that is not cool !!!

EDIT

Actually, I take it back, after having a look at the gameplay and how it is 1,000 times better than Odyssey at the moment, I am calling on Frontier, to immediately implement the game engine that you have developed Lemnis Gate, Into Odyssey.

This is what a first-person shooter should look like !!!!

And I mean implement everything from the Shields to the speed at which the weapons reload to the skill required to be successful, this looks like a fantastic first-person shooter and I hope Frontier does very well with it because if they do it can show and the evidence that they can do it again on any other platform they wish.

You are a conspiracy theorist. And a pretty crap one at it. Lemnis Gate uses Unreal Engine and is made by a completely different company than FD.

Lol, I dare add.

Yes, you are right.... Wow, how did I not see that??

Dared to fail. Frontier Foundry is a subsidiary of Frontier Developments. Turn right at the end of the hall instead of left, but they're totally separate true story lol
Frontier Foundry is the publishing label, not the dev studio. It's made by a Canadian studio...

Not the same team, not the same engine, not the same company, not even the same continent. So yeah, turn right at the end of the hall, leave the building, call a cab, go to the airport, buy a ticket, sit for eight hours in a plane, then take the bus to Montreal center. Somehow there are different dudes there.

True story. Lol.

No. It's not. (As others mentioned)

It's Unreal Engine.

Oh man, that's some conspiracy theory that would put the people who think engine trail are full of mind altering chemical to shame.

-Lemnis gate is NOT made by Frontier. It's made by Ratloop Games Canada. Frontier is the publisher, they don't develop it, they sell it. Just like your grocery store sell food they don't produce.
-Lemnis gate is made with Unreal, which is an Epic engine, which is not related to Frontier in any way, shape or form.

For all intent and purposes, Lemnis gate development is as related to Frontier than Fortnite is.
