Is the need for a Gibbon negated?

With us getting the Siaming in the upcoming pack, is there a need for another Gibbon? I know the Siaming was not the go to species - White Cheeked or Lar would be - but it is a Gibbon nonetheless. Just wondering how this now factors in on our wants. Personally it dropped out of my top 10 but another species would still be in my top 30.

They'll probably add another one eventually... if only to recycle the rig. Plus, let's be honest... since when has "there's enough" stopped frontier from adding more (looking at you Spectacled Caiman).

On a side note, I'm very happy they chose the Siamang over any other Gibbon... modders will no doubt be able to clone any other type of Gibbon the fans desire, but a Siamang and it's unique throat pouch isn't something they could do.

This 100%.

Siamang is the best-case scenario for us modders, at least. The unique animations for the pouch can simply be removed, but if we had gotten any other gibbon species, that would have been something that we could not replicate.

Very excited to see how this bodes for the future!

Now, y'all figured out how to add new species, new props, and very recently new exhibit animals. Any chance sounds will be figured out?

I still want a lar gibbon and I think this is the same scenario that back in time with the seal, king penguin and giant otter. First they introduce the less popular and then later as a second option add the most popular.
Agree, I think it's very possible still. But a lot will depend on remaining number of packs. If it's just 2more packs and probably 11 Habitat animals, I would rather see unique animals take up most or all slots. if it's 5-6 more packs, I'm game for animals that are similar to what we have/will have now.

I had the northern white-cheeked gibbon on my wishlist. I would still be happy to get them but they are not that essential to me anymore now that we have the siamang. Would prefer to get my other most wanted animals first.

The siamang was what I always wanted. I was always very disappointed by the popularity of the lar - siamangs are practically a given for zoos in Australasia (only Wellington Zoo has a different species in New Zealand, the northern white-cheeked gibbon). That said, is the need negated? It's sort of a weird question. The need for a gibbon in general is probably satisfied, but no doubt many people still want a different species. I wouldn't sniff at a second gibbon either, even if it's the lar (though I'd prefer the northern white-cheeked).

I want another gibbon! In Animal Kingdom we have siamangs and white cheeked gibbons together. I love the sexual dimorphism between the males and females of other gibbon species

I personally would love all the animals we can get (i will not complain if we get a white cheeked gibbon eventually) BUT i think that if we have just a limited number of animals left (a number we don't really know, since we don't know at this point how long support will last) i would prefer for the remaining species to be somewhat unique or highly requested.

EDIT: i agree the siamang was the better choice for a gibbon species because of the unique pouch.
