Is The Python Worth It?

I think the issue is its too good at everything,

There is no issue we payed almost 60 mill just for the ship, and ive paid another 10 mill in parts so far it should be everything it is now and more, i hate when people say the best things in games should be nerfed-- and thats why i dont play eve anymore they nerfed everything.

Will people please stop assuming I'm a guy in a viper crying for nerfs I've been in a python a couple of weeks >< face it they are going to nerf it i don't want them to but they are going to! I offered comments on the nerf because I think it should be in a different direction than they are going thats all.

Traded from a Clipper to a Python yesterday. Other than the almost non-existent Yaw rate its a nice boat.
Now I can trade and not be a easy target.
Cheap ships should NOT be able to tangle with expensive ships. Or whats the point in playing to achieve.

Yeah, I'm not so sure it really needs that much of a nerf. It's the most expensive, "best" combat ship in the game. It's the end of a rather long credit grind and can still be defeated by a few well-flown cobras/vipers. It's fine as it is, IMO.

Even fixed class 3 pulse lasers will rip the shields off of anything pretty quickly, but you can use Beams if you want just be aware that they are currently much, much heavier than every other large weapon (hopefully a bug).

Yeah, that is indeed stange. The Class 3 fixed Beam Lasers have 19 tons, the gimballed and turreted ones only have 8 Tons like other class 3 weapons. But since I like gimballed weapons this was no problem for me ;). But I hope there will be a fix or at least some explanations soon.

youre message has just the right amount of a desperateness in it to ask for a nerf. congrats ;)

I bought a Python Saturday and it was worth every credit. It's easily the best combat ship in the game and can still have around 200t cargo hold while fitted for combat. It can also land on outposts which opens many more trading options than other ships with similar or more cargo capacity. The best thing about it though is the way it flies, this is a 125 meter long ship that feels just as (if not more) maneuverable than a Viper.

Personally, I've decided to wait on the Python until the maneuverability is nerfed. I fear that if I flew it now, I would fall in love with it and when the promised nerf comes I would be torn up about it. I'd rather wait, then when I add it to my fleet it still feels swift and Agile compared to my Type 9, without baggage along the lines of how nice it USED to be.

:( meanie... I don't know how i've become the bad guy here was it really that bad to suggest reduced cargo instead of reduced maneuverability?

if a fighter is a good fighter he will get smashed by the nerf hammer !

if a multi-purpose ship is very strong in everything it is entirely normal !

something that everybody should accept is that Frontier hate fighter ships

This is what I'm scared of. I bought my Python and have A thrusters on it and it flies like a dream. I HATE that they are nerfing the (imo) best thing about the ship, how fun it is to fly. A good game designer should never make their game LESS fun through nerfs.

I've done a lot of combat in both the Anaconda and Python,

Whilst the Anaconda is obviously the bigger sexier ship, it's a real handful in a conflict zone, slow - lumbering and exhausting to fly, in terms of DPS it puts out a hell of a lot, but I miss the Python.... I think i'll probably go back to the Python at some point, it was a real dream to fly..

If you have one ship that clearly dominates all others, then the only change in strategy anyone has to do is fly this ship, too.

Or wait until they release wings? The running/replacement costs are much higher. It's a great ship until an opponent scratches your hull. Usage also depends on what you want to do. I prefer a viper in warzones.

Compared to a Type-9, every Ship except the dropship is swift and agile. It seems to me that some here have a very drastic expectation of that nerf. FD said the plan some adjustments, not to render it nearly unusable as a battleship.
I expect an adjustment which puts her behind an Asp and Cobra but I am very sure it will still be more maneuverable than any Type-6,7,9 freighter. I believe it may get a Agility of 5 or 4. Maybe with some additional slight adjustments in Top Speed...
