I always find it funny that people comment like "why would you want to get the biggest ship in one day" "you're missing out on loads of the content" etc etc.
But in the same vein, they say "play your way" "blaze your own trail" "play solo/open whatever its your choice".
It's pretty simple, these people enjoy being in the "best" thing in the game, the best armor, the best car, the best weapons -- and if it burns them out or it doesn't, it's their enjoyment.
That isn't really what's funny though, what's funny is the defences of people who think, nay, believe, that you actually need to have loads of credits or huge ships to enjoy the game. Citing it as a reasoning for their gluttonous consumption of content and getting into needless debates about what constitutes "playing", "viability" and then further down the discussion "fun per £ spent". i.e. "While you burnt yourself out in 6 hours and complain about how little content there is, I've been playing for 12000 hours so Elite has cost me about £0.0025 per hour. That's way better than the cinema!".
Not trying to insult or denigrate anyone in particular - I just find these types of discussions humourous and they all tend to fall down into "mile wide, inch deep", "your type of playing is boring, my type is the only one that matters" and "you children and your vacuous approach to playing, I've been playing games since before you were born".
OT: There are tonnes of guides out there on youtube, I don't know whether there is actually one by the original creator of that video though.
