Is there a reason we don’t see frequent bug fixes?

Star Trek Online releases bug fixes weekly with no problems.

XD they also introduce more bugs with every fix, so there's that too. Not to mention their ability to fix > break the same thing again > fix it, again > break yet again... cycle. At best they use bubblegum, duct tape, a lot of wishful thinking and fingers crossing - hoping a bug just goes away on its own. (Speaking as STO player who has been with that flaky boat from times before it became F2P).

In fairness, in my time spent in STO getting a character to max level, I think I ran into all of two bugs, and both of them only meant I had to restart a mission. Core stuff all worked.

Meanwhile, try to play Elite for more than an hour or two without running into some kind of unintended broken behavior.

In your opinion. The facts show the contrary. ED has never been healthier.

Average concurrent players on Steam:
January 2016 3,666.9
January 2017 6,717.7

That's not bad for a two years old game. I think they know better how to deliver a product than you do.

That's awful....

Efficient in what context? Finances or keeping players?

Great for finances short term. Horrible for keeping players and thus a death sentence long term.

They do absolutely fail in this regard. Game-breaking bugs being left to fester like an open wound on the live servers for months at a time is a complete, irredeemable failure that cannot be excused. You're driving off players, and games live or die by their player base.

No, the player base wasn't worse. Speaking as someone that's been active on the forums since March 2014.

Almost 3 years now and this place has been like riding the short bus down the highway to hell.

I'd have to agree with practically everything. Let's also not forget how many people here love telling us that "ED is a finished game!" well if it's finished, why are there huge bugs in v1 still that aren't getting fixed despite all the updates we've had over S2?

I don't see how anyone can defend ED here- the bugs have been here for years and people paid a lot of money for this game - where's the bug fixes!

They prefer to save up all the bugfixes and release them all at once. To release a fix only to have it break something else, which is fixed which breaks something else... they may as well just drop the whole lump in a major update and see what needs fixing after the smoke clears

Your experience with STO is my experience in Elite these days. Must be playing different builds.
