Is there a trick to finding impact sites?

Just tried reactivation 3 weeks ago, I was happy to finally find 2 reactivation missions with suit schematics reward. Ok, I travel to first one aaaaand…settlement is already active. relogging, go out from planet…nothing. ok, try the second one…same thing. And abort mission has also give me a fine 😓
Yeah, unfortunately, that is a problem right now. You can check the target settlement before you accept the mission to make sure it's actually deserted. It is a pain, but I guess you have to ask yourself if screwing around with the menus and maps for a mintue is worth 4 Suit Schematics or 5 Manufacturing Instructions, or whatever.

The best systems to do these missions in are the ones where the purple "progress bar" is the lowest. That means there's less recovered assets in the system, so your chances of getting an actually abandoned target is higher.

If you want to do it the "normal" way, Manufacturing instructions are an uncommon mission reward. If you can get it from a concourse npc you can double it. This is slower but "proper" gameplay. Obs, be Allied with everyone, don't just stick to the same mission boards.

The grindy way is to find a crashed beacon and relog the crap out of it. This is faster but may leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Not all settlements are equal. There is a settlement type that is brilliant for Suit Schematics. No, I'm not telling you what it is. Explore and learn. Suit Schemas are also an uncommon combat mission reward. You can kill 2 birds with MIs at the same time.

Salvage missions for assets always spawn impact sites. Accepting a salvage mission to recover a micro transformer or circuit board will always spawn the beacon with 4 potential download slots because those assets don't spawn behind a small access panel (which is all the voyager satellite has). Just don't recover the mission target and relog to your heart's content.
If you really want to farm your MI instead of getting them through normal gameplay, listen to this advice. Although I really condemn the relog gameplay, I actually tried this. You find those salvage missions everywhere, and taking the ones asking for micro transformers work reliably. What you get from a four-slot satellite is still RNG, but especially if you only need a handful, you're done in a few minutes. Other than that, I randomly get five of them as mission rewards now and then - I just did yesterday by accident, I think it was for a settlement raid.

Relogging seems doesn't works. Tried yesterday with a impact site: relogging or get away from planet when I return the satellite is still empty... I hope for you that's only one of my infinite unlucky case

There's a galaxy of problem in this game, but everytime priority seems: Fix the way that could be helpful for players, they have to get pain while playing this game 🤦🏻‍♂️

Tried again yesterday to find impact sites:
  • Travel about 12 systems
  • scanned dozen of planets with DSS
  • found 3 impact sites, 2 with threat 1 and last with threat 2. All crashed beacon have useless data...ok, try the last one
  • Travel to community goal system and found 1 impact site
  • Kill all skimmers and check the beacon: The beacon has no material, no data... like was already smuggled from another player 😓

Did you know if they nerfed again the impact sites?
Did you know if there's system with some condition/state/government or other filters to easily find them?

To find impact sites it is usually easier to take salvage missions. A proportion will take you to what you want.

If you get a mission (finally) to salvage from an impact site, but it spawned the wrong type of crashed satellite, is there anyway to get the game to respawn the impact site? Or do we just have to complete and try for another mission?

Most of my MI came from mission rewards, for some reason some systems seem to spawn them repeatedly whilst others never do.
OTOH if you can find an abandoned Ind settlement you stand a good chance to farm loads.

And by Relog he means all the way to desktop. Menu relog doesn't work. And the one I'm working now is in a Controlled Area. Every download is giving me a Fine.
