Is there a way to find Pirate Activity USSs?

Conductive Ceramics/Polymers ... rather than ship salvage, I just take missions with Biotech Conductors as a reward and trade down. One mission can give 5 BC, so 15 Polymers or 45 Ceramics. (With the right mission, can be combined with blowing stuff up, of course)

I was getting bio's from Scout massacre missions.

Are those missions still around?
Check out rescue ships near attacked stations on Thursdays.
Non available at the moment because the Thargoids have been given a good drubbing (again).

Have a look on Galnet, lists current systems under attack, and the current Incursion status.
(All are currently 'no Thargoid presence' =no missions.)

Oops, sorry @Stealthie, I completely forgot about that part of your OP!
Krait MK2?

No worries. (y)
I know missions & trading is a good way to gather mat's.
I just fancy some mindless violence at the moment. ;)

Yep.
It's a Krait Mk2.
Originally, I realised how many mat's I was wasting by blowing stuff up in my FdL so I wanted a ship that was "an FdL but with more slots".
A Python would probably be a better choice 'cos it's got a better armour fiddle-factor but I just find the Python a bit dull so I used a Krait instead.
OTOH, the Krait's faster than a Python and Belugas take off like scalded cats when you attack them so you need a fast ship to keep up.

It's not especially good at killing combat ships 'cos they can evade and then the weapons overheat but it's superb at exploding big ships.
Oh, and it's got the shields, limpets and cargo space required for tampering with orbital installations too - an all around sketchy ship. ;)

Here's the build: https://s.orbis.zone/3f98

Also, for the hell of it, I put together a similar build based on a Python to show the difference: https://s.orbis.zone/3f9a
Note that the Python has an extra slot and a bigger slot so you could build it with a bigger GSB and still have space for a HRP/FS Interdictor or whatever.

I use my PvP Frag Krait (with a few collection limpets thrown on for extra laziness) for my mindless murder of NPC's.

It basically one shots most of them. :ROFLMAO:
It also has a fairly good jump range, and fuel range, so I can hop about quite a bit without scooping.

I see the wiki says they appear in systems in Lockdown, which is a bit odd 'cos I was seeing them in LHS 20 a few weeks ago and I don't think any faction there was in Lockdown.
I find they appear regularly where there's civil unrest.

Where they don't appear is systems with the Pirate Attack state... go figure :/

All those new signals in the system with funny names like Green Monkey Holiday Sauna. They belong to system factions and have a scenario where they get raided by pirates, usually with 3 anacondas. Every time you drop into one.

Oh, I’ve seen those in the Nav Panel, always been to busy to stop in and look.

I’ll have to check at HQ and see if anyone’s done testing on their BGS effects. We never target them as an operation, so I assume someone has looked and dismissed them.

They're usually the target for those "disable the installation turrets" missions (which, presumably, have some effect on the BGS) or, as has been said, a stage for those little set-piece battles (I forget what FDev called them).

Also, if you're lucky, you sometimes get heaps of Tourist ships visiting them which means, if they're in a "no security response" area, means they're another place you can go to blow stuff up for mat's.

Yes, I swapped my Phantom not so long ago for a Krait II, it is a versatile ship. I am tempted by the Python as it has that extra S6 slot plus all core internals are identical to the Krait so an easy move, but the Krait boost would be hard to give up.
