Is there a way to mark a spot on a planet?

So with the coming space legs, and i would imagine the ability to finally create you own home base, i would like to be on the look out for suitable spots when discovered to do so.

When i discover that perfect place with stunning view on some random planet, it would be nice to stick some kind of homing becon in the ground to mark it for future reference.

Anyone think of a way to do this?

Perhaps a collection of beacons marking various locations.

Unless FD gives us a tool for this, it will be as it always has been. Write down the coordinates.
