Yeah it's fair enough - I remember when they had a competition on a few years back where you could win it, I was gutted to not win it. They'd certainly sell though, especially the one for the Cobra.I do wish they would sell stuff like that again, but also appreciate they've stuck to their word.
Yep, the final 20% on the Cyclops I decided to just go for it, heat warning, swarm shooting at me, and the fear of the cloud expanding to where I was (i.e. very close to the Interceptor). Proper edge of the seat moment.I still remember it. Sparks were flying, modules were in bits and needed 2 reboot and repairs to get them back online to finish the fight, barely made it out. It was great!
Fair point. The other thing to consider is module damage.I think they're worth it if you're expecting to take damage, it's free hp each time you go for a heart to save the precious hull.
Yeah it really would, and for the record I'd be happy with them selling it again. The fact it was a timed exclusive was irrelevent, I bought it because I thought it looked really cool.Yeah it's fair enough - I remember when they had a competition on a few years back where you could win it, I was gutted to not win it. My ability (or willingness to learn the patterns...) plateaus at Basilisks. And a good while back I was part of a wing taking out a Hydra, where I didn't really contribute due to the ship I ran (couldn't catch up with the others, mostly Cutters and Kraits), it took a lot of DPS and patience so not sure if I want to dedicate the time and effort required to solo those (skill aside).View attachment 186488
I killed three Cyclops (seperatly) on Sunday as a warm up for a small ship only Hydra hunt

Never heard the phrase "all good things come in 4" either!Well it can't be a cobra Mk4
I'm in two minds about the shield - tempted to replace that with another hull reinforcement, as it just draws power and doesn't last long anyways.
Like I said, the things it can't do, literally don't matter. In terms of cargo hauling larger quantities - technically it can thanks to partial cargo deliveries - I suppose the question is whether one is willing to make the additional journeys. But it is possible at least.
As for luxury cabins - my experience with them has been mixed at best; ran both a Beluga and a Dolphin solely for this purpose for a while, and those Luxury passengers were either nowhere to be found, or if they were, the mission was not worth it (either too long, poor reward, or both).
I've since gotten rid of both ships and just haul passengers up to first class - weirdly enough quite often the most valuable missions are economy class. It's not like the luxury variants play out in any special way compared to the rest, either. Another missed opportunity there.
Of course, but given the size of the ship, compromises have to be made, but those cargo missions are at least not locked away from you because your ship is too small, like before we were able to do partial deliveries.
There are, but what we need are small pad only outposts. I'd love that.
Fills a Sidewinder fuel tank in under a minute!fuel scoop (class 1 <-- seriously, why does this even exit?)
I'm pretty sure there are systems with only outposts though.
My cargo Cobra carries 60t (meaning those 120/180t missions are doable with 2/3 trips - I prefer my Python for those, but, if you had to rely on the Cobra, you could still complete them), shieldless but sufficient armour and speed to escape NPCs. None of my Cobra's apart from the Combat and Xeno variants perhaps would last in a PvP engagement of course, but this thread isn't about that though. It can't carry more than 46 tonnes of cargo while packing the smallest possible shield generator (class 3) or fuel scoop (class 1 <-- seriously, why does this even exit?).
Unlike my blockade runner Dolphin which can haul 64 tonnes, while packing the same class 3 shields and a nice large class 4 fuel scoop.

Yes. This example is a Sidewinder, but the Cobra is no different.
Charge with an American Express card.First attempt as well... (and who cares about SLFs really!)

EDIT - below is the outfitting (am too lazy to translate this into Coriolis). I'm fully aware it's not perfect, I basically just took the modules I thought I needed and applied engineering with the mats I had available, which is why not everything is G5'd, or uses different options (such as the HRP, I had to swap that from another 4D GHRP due to power constraints, the secondary effect is due to running out of mats, not done on purpose, normally I'd put deep plating on it; heatsink I took from another ship for example, I didn't want to override the lightweight option but normally would engineer to get the additional ammo). Xeno Scanner is optional, but I like seeing what's going on with the Interceptor (shield strength etc.). Still, did the job.
