I.... I.... I killed the thread didn't I?
No, people are just.......processingI.... I.... I killed the thread didn't I?
I know there's been a few novels as well as the legendary short by Robert Holdstock that went with the original Elite game back in the 80s, but is there still any milage in ED literature? I'm toying with the idea of producing some... it'll make a nice distraction from searching for Pharmaceutical Isolators and crying about the state of the game.
But how could I share it? And of course...
would anyone even want to read it? lololol
Thoughts, suggestions, and snarky comments all welcome.
My understanding is that Frontier aren't currently looking to offer the sort of licensing needed for that at the moment - but of course that's not to say they wouldn't consider a suitable proposal. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/elite-dangerous-media-usage-rules.510879/ is probably a good starting point for what you can do without a specific agreement and what you can't.I'm afraid I am conceited enough to imagine that my work would be worthy of publication (if that's not too old-fashioned a concept) so I'm not really looking to just dump what I produce on a role-playing board or whatever,
There is a number if groups playing ED. Many have a theme and roleplay that in-game. That's fanfic in practice. Many thanks to everyone for the posts and suggestions, too many here to thank ppl individually but I have read them all and noted the links of interest and chuckled over the gags, (even when they went over my head.)
I'm afraid I am conceited enough to imagine that my work would be worthy of publication (if that's not too old-fashioned a concept) so I'm not really looking to just dump what I produce on a role-playing board or whatever, although the idea of collaborating with any interested content creators out there does appeal. Any such who are bereft of inspiration or looking for a friend are welcome to hit me up and I will give them a pitch.
My current concept is a short novel in the Drew Wagar mould, but with more poetry in a Kurt Vonnegut kinda way and a grand theme in a Shakespeare kinda way. Definitely no blue hair. Unless that Aisling babe is in there somewhere.
I consider myself a writer manqué who just happens to be a bit clueless about how to become what I should have been. So I guess I'm still open to helpful input. In any case I appreciate everyone's posts.
