is this a bug

I was in a CNB yesterday, had a almost full tank of fuel and had to log out of the game to have dinner.
When I logged back in after about an hour or so I tried to jump back to my home station only to be informed that there was not enough fuel for the only 10 lys jump, so I had to find a scoopable that was a lot closer.
Is this a bug or the norm as I have never experienced this before

I have never had that before. Sounds like a bug if you are sure about your fuel situation prior to logging off.

Did you actually log all the way out to the main menu? If you just press escape to bring up the menu you may not have fully logged out, and burning fuel for an hour in SC can use up quite a bit. If not it was the thargoids, they stole it, so definately a bug in one way or another!

Yes logged right out and was still in the CNB so not in SC, in fact had someone scan me within seconds. (had to go there as I was wanted for 8 minutes in my home system)

PC or console? If PC are you running EDDiscovery? you can check your game logs before & after you 'logged out'. That may give a clue....if you run EDD.

Even you don't run EDD but are on a PC, you can check your journal logs in the game files.
