Is this game any good yet?

Cant be any worse than the past year...sure as hell hope not anyway...and I mean in real life before someone jumps down my throat again. Hate the way I now feel the need to explain every little nuance in case some snowflake sees something not intended.

Aye happy new year anyway...to all even those I care little about cos Im not actually a miserable guy by nature regardless what anyone wants to think. I do intend on playing again but Ill wait a few more weeks and give them time to rectify any alleged mistakes with the timing. Im a bit salty true but I had hoped that Q4 would be the catalyst to get me back into the game and I got lots of playtime available that I cant use to play the game I wanna play.

If yer happy playing the game, Im happy for ye really I am...I wouldnt wish problems on anyone despite the claims from some that people like me cant abide happy players...that is without a doubt the biggest load of tripe currently on page one and its just making things worse and more toxic completely uncalled for.

Its times like this where it becomes very clear where the real toxic players come from...more than one here should take a long hard look at themselves as more a part of the problem than the solution.

However, Im done...fer now and shall leave ye in peace to let FD get on with what needs getting on with. Let the trolls troll if it makes them happy, they waited ages fer opportunities like this after all ^

This is a very small category of people in the forum. It's the people who feel the need to go to a "I Love This Game" thread and try to convince everyone how terrible ED is. I saw a few posts like this just yesterday.

You quote a very small category of people of the other extreme, people who feel the need to go into every "I Have This Problem With The Game" thread and try to convince everyone how terrible the people with these views are. "They actively resent happier people" is a damning and highly inaccurate assessment of the majority of players who express dislike for a specific feature / bug in the game.

Unfortunately this kind of rhetoric not only flourishes in the forum, it sometimes comes from the very people who should be keeping it in check.

I was gone for a while. Came back for 3.3 and found the attack/defend the capital ship/large structure thing. I like that a lot. Give's me a {momentary} reason for combat. Dont know if that is part of 3.3 or some earlier update...but it's fun.

I think it's the same 'usual suspects' that claim the game with 3.3 is not fun for the majority, when it's the opposite. That steamcharts was showing participation in X4 is sloping down while ED gained and stayed steady could be interpreted imo, that ED players returned from X4 after having had enough in its "greener" pastures having experienced the proof that no, X4 is not "like ED('s scope), but better".

It is accurate though.

I tend to think it's more about the "forum game" where naysayers tried to promulgate the game was doomed and FD were somehow inferior and deserved "punishment", tar and feathering (for ludicrously claimed past "transgressions") yet were proven wrong again and again and the sinusoidal cycle just continues on as ED eventually progresses through it's ten-year plan. So it's just grasping at straws and alarming any nitpick however minor, to enjoyment of the game , and making noise with these threads to try to justify their embarrassingly incorrect forum bents and minority game failure prognostications.
