Is this laptop spec up to running Odysee today? i7 + 16GB RAM + NVidia Quadro T2000 with 4GB VRAM

I know the graphics card is not specifically aimed at gaming, but it's performance is allegedly comparable with a similar specified graphics cards designed for gaming.
I bough this laptop a short time before Odysee came out thinking 4GB VRAM would be fine as a step up from Horizons recommended 3GB. And 8GB VRAM is recommended for Odysee sigh

Specification:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10850H CPU @ 2.70GHz 2.71 GHz
Installed RAM: 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
System type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Graphics card: NVIDIA Quadro T2000 with Max-Q Design (4GB VRAM)
Hard drive: SSD

Runs Horizons very well at a decent resolution considering play on laptop screen or similar resolution external monitor.

Is this machine good enough to run Odysee well (as well as any computer can), even if I have to compromise on resolution a bit?
I'm fully aware of historic Odysee performance issues, but not so in touch with how it is on update 11.
I doubt I will be doing much on foot FPS combat. Wondering around the fleet carrier I should be able to purchase in game soon and exploring planets is more likely. And to flog the dead horse to a bloody pulp, I live in hope of being able to walk around inside my ships, board and leave them without fade to black teleport some day.... Walking up and down actual stairs / cargo ramps...

Cheers :)

Barely - that is, it will run, but dont expect any wonders. It also strongly depends on how good the cooling is on that laptop.

Apparently that Quadro T2000 is somewhere between a mobile gtx1650 and a gtx1660ti

But i guess 1080p with medium settings will be ok-ish

It's a Dell Precision that is advertised as having more attention paid to cooling design. It's designed for heavy CAD purposes really.

Sounds like it will work but keep the resolution and other settings middle of the road....

GPU is a little on the weak side and only has 4GiB of VRAM. The game will run, and you could probably tune it down to something playable, but it wouldn't look very good.

I'd have to agree with this, I run the game on my laptop with its GTX 1650, playable 30fps at medium settings, yours should marginally outpace mine with it's better processor & higher end card.

Useful to know. Only on foot stuff I'm likely to do much of is exploring and a bit of walking inside the carrier I'll be able to buy soon. I'll try FPS combat a little. So mostly ship based play is hopefully less demanding on GFX card...

Ship based play generally works fine, there is a drop in FPS from Horizons especially near stations but you shouldn't see too much difference in space from regular Horizons play.

I have not worked out what FPS it runs at, but at a 1680x1050 resolution with a mix of high and medium graphics quality settings Odysee is running fine with the rare stutter. This is most noticeable loading up the galaxy map. The question of what looks best, Odysee vs. Horizons is situational. I have not been anywhere yet that had canyons in Horizons, but doesn't in Odysee. I have been to the canyons on Soonthill 2A which are great in Odysee and don't exist in Horizons where it's a barren white planet you cannot land on. I like being able to get out the ship and walk around it. I wish I could board the ship properly, although I think I'd want the shortcut teleport for large ships to save the long walk every time.
The downside of Odysee, and it's a big one in certain situations, is the horrible aliasing. Inside and approaching space stations and outposts looks terrible. Conversely, planet surface bases are significantly better, although some of my regular planets have lost their colour. Some lightning glowing effects just don't work right (e.g.m cockpit fairy lights). There are other threads I've reported this on as well as voting on the issue in the Frontier support site. All round I like Odysee so far, but will probably have to drop back to Horizons when I want to do a lot of ship based activity that is not exploration to escape the horrible aliasing effects. This really needs addressing.

My settings if it's of interest. The laptop screen resolution is 1920x1200.
