Ship Builds & Load Outs Is this okay for a Bounty Hunting Vulture?

My my my... quite a few opinions here. Guess I'll through my two cents in...

First off, I've been flying and tweaking a Vulture for months now and just cashed in 6mil in bounties thanks to hi intensity RES and Arissa Duval's 50% thingy. For weapons I find myself favoring 2 gimballed Burst lasers Though twin pulse, pulse and beam or beam and cannon can all do the job based on preference.
I do find that class A thrusters make little real difference that I can see. Usually I fit Class C to save a little on power.
The use of hull reinforcment and mil grade armor is not something I have ever tried. That's a lot a added weight on a ship that is ideally a shield tanker. I would recommend that you try a shield booster instead. Although if playing chicken with your hull is your thing then maybe not. Unless you like breathing Vacuum.
I always fit Class A sensors when using gimballed weapons, it seems to reduce the spread a little which is what sensor upgrades are supposed do.

Thank you, exactly the kind of advice I was looking for.

Every time I see post like this it boils my blood. The Vulture should be more than enough to take out a Python one on one. Here watch and learn.

that python cmdr is worse than a 1.3 npc, he just follows you in circles letting you rip him apart, he barely shoots at you and at some point even throws missiles at your shields. he is also poorly fitted: you are eating his shield away with two small and two medium multicannons? lol ...

skill being equal a vulture should have a very tough time against a python.

also it's my impression you're flying that viper almost like you would fly a vulture, just at a bit greater distance. you shouldn't get away with that against a semi-competent pilot. i've to say i have next to none experience flying the python (didn't like it) so i could be wrong, but i do have some experience fighting them.

I meant "Python" bot at RES.

it actually looks like that, but i don't think so. asking seriously: do they exist?

Does turn circle (not rate) improve under optimal mass?
Don't think its all that much but not nothing, but my vulture feels a lot zippier (particularly in the thrusters and with reverse speed manouveres) with 5a thrusters.

It also feels like having a fee pips in engines during combat helps, so I have now gone from splitting my pips between shields and weapons to having three in engines and three in weps. With that I can tuck into any ships blind spot lay down laser fire.

Only things that even gets close to returning fire (unless I screw up) are eagles and they barely tickle, and usualy don't live long ;)

And yes there are python npc's in RES'S (you do need a large ship spawn table, they don't always happen without a bit of resetting) I consider them free money, target pp, tuck in 45 degrees above or below engines and it's usualy over in less than a minute, most don't even last half that.

Get a shield cell bank, it's very useful, just bind it to a key or button on your joystick, make sure to engage it before your shield goes down, otherwise it won't repair. If you are down to one ring though, after 5 seconds from pushing the button it will start to repair your shields, has saved me several times.

Sorry, I don't think I understand the question.

oh, my bad, i misunderstood. i hadn't read the first posts and thought that by 'bot' you were meaning that the enemy cmdr in that video was a scripted bot farming a RES :D you actually meant npc.

so then on topic: ;-)

Hi there, need opinions on what I may have missed. Not used to using SCB's

that's exactly what you missed: an SCB. :D

get one, get used to use it, and elite anacondas will be easy. just try to not let them hit you, but because you have to go near and they are tough they will sometimes hit you. that's where the scb and some chaff comes in. relying only on hull is no good, just never let your shield drop and forget about armor and reinforcements altogether. that will make you lighter, evade better and get hit even less. also, sell that ridiculously expensive and useless armor and use the cash to upgrade those base modules instead ;-)

You think that was the only time I did that against a more powerful ship. Yes laugh away thinking the only way to engage other Players is having C3 weapons.

the only way to engage anything is having weapons.
BTW, did you know about the weapon-to-landing-pad ratio ?
C3 do 100% damage every time, all the time.
C2 do 75% to big, 100% to others.
C1 do 50% to big, 75% to medium, 100% to small.

Did you know the weapons penalty only counts against the Hull not shields? And everybody knows once shields are down everyone panics, and once I target your PP see how long you will last.

I ran my Vulture until I had enough to fully load an FDL and still have 60 million to spare. I went with this build for bounty hunting and that is my primary role in the game by the way since I am not much into the PvP. This build is tried and tested after running several different builds from tanking with C3F Beams to light and nimble with C3G PL. Try this one out for size (bear in mind the prioritization of the module power allocation):
