Horizons Is this right? Constantly getting interdicted in the middle of nowhere?

If there was a way to see the strength of the pirate as soon as he does the dirty, then one would have a chance of fighting if equal or running if not equal.

If only the interdicting pirate had a rank next to his name...

Anyways, 2-300 ly isn't really all that far outside the bubble, it is conceivable that a bounty hunter or pirate in a half decently set up ship would travel that far for its prey. For the bounty hunter, you are an easy score with little risk. For the pirate, what is important for you for mods is also important to the pirate. It might only be worth a few credits, but it can be sold or more likely used to mod the pirates ship. Did I mention a ship set up for exploring is an easy target?

People try to over complicate this whole thing. Obviously it's a very simple algorithm, that governs interdiction. It doesn't matter what cargo you have or what missions you got or what ship you have. Randomly generated seed, that may hit you several times a row if you are not lucky, you you can play for hours and not get once interdicted. The game mechanics code behind the whole game is not as complex as many think or many wish it to be.
