Ok, I am looking at a system where I am allied with everyone, and I in fact get data missions up to 200k and cargo missions up to 900k.
What is your trade rank? I'm allied with most of my "home" system factions and it is rare if I am offered data and cargo missions ~ 30K and 100K, respectfully.

Somone else just reported 8 million for 26ly. That doesn't sound too bad.

And how long did it take them to find that mission? Cause I jumped around for near 2 hours checking systems I'm usually in and am Allied with every faction. Highest paying mission I saw was 300k for missions that would have net me 2 million from the same location in 2.1. And no, before you say it, it's not a long rang mission. Kamito, which is about 4 jumps from Achenar.

Payouts with their highest being that low is a joke. If I just got to luck out and see a 8 million credit payout once a day then it's just as broken as it was before this fix. I'm not dealing with that headache and they need to fix it. And way faster than 3 weeks this time.

Edit: Are the servers just not catching up or something? Because I'm still not seeing these payouts

I am doing my best at updating OP :)

Oh I don't know. I mean I'm looking at a mission now 15 million for 8KLY.

Since were mid change I have no idea if it's under the new system or old so wouldn't want to say either way.

It's just folk blowing up, I mean the majority of people haven't even looked, just raging on some hearsay.

For me I do think the long haul paid too much, but really that's only because of the ability to stack. But people do stack and if fixing that isn't feasible well...

That's a pretty extreme case but they are not that hard to find I don't think, well at least for me.

Looking at one now, 11 million for 430LY, but it's 3 stops.

Also a 30 million Sag A one, but while that looks a lot and you may be dazzled by the big numbers, it's a pretty time consuming mission.

I think when people start assuming it should be normal to casually get loads of 'get 5 million for one jump' missions they'll be angry for a while...

I'm very much of the mind that there should be contractual jobs.

2/3 Week contracts.. Rolling missions, with open time frames. The better you perform the better the overall payout.

Could be like a CG style bar. Fulfil request efficiently, reach tier/level 1 of payout... and so on.

(other rewards can be included)

There is an option for salary based play here also.

Wait hold on. What about normal missions? Passenger missions is one thing but I have 1 ship fit for that. My biggest issue is the normal mission board, cause as far as I can tell it's still just as busted as before

Let me have a look. I'm not a good gauge of mission levels to be honest, been doing other stuff.

One thing though, the good stuff I think I'm generally seeing for one faction that's in Boom state.

I mean if you want high rate military perhaps you want war, not boom?

edit: I am at Alioth, main mission board looks pants, moving small numbers around for 5 figures. All the factions here are "none" except one which is "boom". As above I assume you'd be best checking in say a war state, ideally with one you're allied to get a better idea of what's good?

That falls in line with what I'm seeing down in Imperial space. Takes a boom state to see anything above 5 figures and even then it's stupidly low, 100k to 300k max if I'm lucky. I don't think this fix did anything other than make people angry

Is it me or does it seem that the mission payout system varies too wildly?

Hope I explain this well but it seems, in general, that they don't adjust payouts as such, i.e. they don't simply cut all mission payouts by x%.

It's like they produce a bottom and top payout, presumably based on mission type, rank and rep levels.

Then rng decides where on that scale to place the level of payout, with the rng being weighted towards lower and mid-tier payouts.

If it's something like that then I suspect what they did with passenger missions today was to lower the lowest level of payout and increase the chances a mission payout will fall towards the lower levels of payout.

So rng may produce the 8m and 11m missions mentioned but there would be, overall, a lower chance of finding those higher payouts.

This, to me, could explain why we see such inconsistent payouts with the extremes that we do.

I've been patient enough. Frontier need to go back in there and fix this now. I don't care if by fixing it, it reverts back to having Sothis back like it was. I don't care. Do it, then figure out if you can nerf just those areas of the game. Just let get back to actually playing the damn game again, Jesus Christ

Honestly, I couldn't care less that people were earning all those millions from Sothis/Ceos, didn't affect me in the slightest, certainly affected me a damned sight less than the reduced payouts I am seeing well inside the bubble in Kamanhenu now.

Yes I think a level of RNG.

I suspect there's a bit more to it than that though.

Like if you want passengers with money to burn then probably go visit a faction in boom. Your rank probably affects it too, also your rep with the faction. I also wonder if the passenger themselves has an effect, ie I found a high paying one where it described the passenger as rich.

I couldn't agree more, my game's now totally been put on hold because of this whole Sothis/Ceos mess that didn't affect me at all till now. And I spend all this time waiting for a fix and Frontier say "Oh hey we fixed it." But barely touched it at all. All they needed to do was put the missions within the bubble back to the levels they were before 2.1. It seems now they actually can't without also putting Sothis back to pre 2.1 levels as well. If that's the case. Well tough. Do it and let me get back to playing my game at least.

So it's on par for a Frontier fix, then? :D

At this point I'm too upset to tolerate it. They need to do better now

TBH that's the level of reward all low level missions should give. Frontier messed rewards to be way too high after 1.1~1.2.

Hi. Can I ask a favour? Stop. Can you all please stop. Just stop talking. Stop telling Frontier this. Stop with the "we have to nerf everything".

The game is being MASSIVELY busted mission wise. It seems just a rediculous mess now. Nothing makes sense. All the payouts are at extremes.

Frontier, please. Just stop. I have had enough of this MASSIVE extreme set of changes. Do you want us to play this game, or not? Pick one. And stick with it for heaven's sake. Because this garbage now masqueradeing as a mission and passenger system is just awful.

And stop listening to people who can't help but ruin mechanics out of pure selfishness. It's a joke. And I'm not laughing.

Sad but true.

Rep to this post.

Democracy is mob rule, and The Mob is fickle.
