Small AX weapons may not carry enough punch?
I have two large turreted AX cannons on my Krait Phantom, and they do the job well enough on Scouts, in combination with a couple of Rail Guns, but I'm not sure Small weapons, even Medium, would be sufficient to do much damage?
medium are fine for scouts, even with just two turreted ones its like melting butter with a hot knife, i wouldnt expect to take out a basilisk with two small AX weapons as Small will always deal
crap less damage than their larger (much more favoured and unbalanced) counterparts, but at least give us the choice and vs scouts could be an option.
i.e. The small Gauss is quite effective if your good with fixed, but vs scouts is very difficult due to their speed and small surface area / lack of modules to "target" for that... erm ... gimballed sniping buggy thing... ay what now? shhhh..
Fixed deal more damage but time on target with turrets is huge especially if you fall into the jousting match with the scouts or any thargoid for that matter (the flower ships are jousting masters), if you do get bored of jousting you can always reverski and plant 99.9% of your fixed shots straight into them, but it almost feels like you have to cheat and reverse to dish some damage out and/or kite backwards to kill the interceptor thingys with flak (its not "combat" its a dance routine with a set pattern to win quick vs flower ships)
AX aside - the same half baked launches couldn't be bothered to give us Small seismic charges, Small plasma Accelerators etc. and they have a cheek to say blaze your own trail & infinite freedom? i smell defecation of the horse variety, heaps of it
