Issues with Galaxy Map and System Map on PC with XBOX controller on Horizon 4.0

Hello CMDRs,

I am running Horizon 4.0 on PC with an XBOX controller + a mini keyboard inserted in the gamepad. I did this not to use my mouse or keyboard ever, except to write or copy and paste the name of a system in the search bar in the galaxy map on Horizon 3.8.

Since the 4.0 update, I'm finding myself unable to select directly a system on the galaxy map. When on a star , the UI indicated to maintain or press the A button on my controller but nothing happens. When I click on the left mouse button, it works fine. If i select a bookmark on the list and press or maintain A, again , nothing happens. Mouse left button works fine again.
In the system map, when i hover on a station or a planet, the UI says i should press A to target it. But nothing happens. Mouse left button works.

So yes, i can use the map using my mouse but that is not what i want.

My question: is there a way to use the new horizon 4.0 galaxy map and the system map with only a controller on PC ?

The Controlls for 4.0 are split when you start 4.0..
controlls are now split into 3 sections..
Its highly likely they did not split equal when the game tried to split it equal into the 3 sections.. If you allready corrected any controll map issues caused by the split then sorry but if you did not then its could be that the auto imported mapping is broken.. I just cant remember if the maps are general as they aslo are used for fleet carriers not just ships..
edit for other reading the galaxy map and system maps are in the general section of the controls as they are used in multi sections of the game...

And yes by default controller button A did select route planning option..

Thank you CMDR!

It was indeed the splitting of controls that provoked this. It reverted to keyboard and mouse during the update for some commands.

I lost part of my customs settings in the process but I'll sort it out.

Problem solved.

Not sure it's worth mentioning now, but I had this problem and just found a way to solve it. It was the issue of having 'Opening galaxy map' and 'Open system map' being on the context menu for the A button, just bind those functions to any button other than A and it won't conflict with selecting systems on the galaxy map.

ED has this very annoying "feature" that if you change controllers, or (apparently) just change the USB port to which your controller is connected to, it will reset all your keybindings to defaults, irreversibly. (I think it does create a backup of the settings file, but I don't know if copying it over the newest file solves the problem.)

There's an entire pinned thread about this issue in the PC forum.

This is basically a problem that effects the custom binds file the way round this is to rename the file to something other than custom and change the file name in the second line of the file to the same new name.
