Item hangars? List of assets/ships you own in different systems?

I've searched and not been able to find an answer to this, so sorry if I missed something. I'm just wondering if we're going to have something akin to personal item hangars aboard stations where we can store commodities/minerals/spare weapons/etc?

I'm also wondering if we'll have a way to see what assets we currently own, and where they're currently located, including stored ships.

Thanks.

Stored ships can be seen in the galaxy map by an icon at a star. Other than that you don't own that much.
currenltly owning caches of commodities are not foreseen. The game is basically about "one man and is ship" (or woman obviously!)

Stored ships are also visible from any shipyard (third tab)

And we supposedly do not get storage space because we would "unbalance the market" and "hoard stuff" or something to that effect.

Boo to that. :( I don't need my own moon (THATS NO MOON ITS A STORAGE LOCKER), but a bit of storage would be nice. I doubt we could unbalance the galactic market if we each had the equivalent of a sea-can's worth of personal space.

I would be nice if we coul;d at least move cargo from one ship to another. then maybe we can't have a storage locker, but we could have a ship with cargo in it ready to go. I could see this being especially useful for miners who might want a smallish ship to mine with, but then be able to transfer cargo to a bigger ship to be able to do the long range trip to the best markets...

Even if they don't want to give permanent space for balance reasons, leased space (pay per hour/day) would be a good addition to the game.

I really think they should allow us to have a bit of storage space on stations AND in our ship's cargo for things like commodities, ores, ship fittings, etc. What if I'm in a Cobra and I want to go to an extraction system to do some mining or whatever, and I want to be able to change my Cobra's fitting based on what I want to do atm. I should be able to carry some fittings in my cargo so I can dock up, refit to a mining fit, and be on my way.

The way it is now, I'd have to literally SELL my current fitting, then find a system with a station that sells the fitting I need, then go to my mining system, do my mining thing, then go BACK to a system that sells weapons/whatnot, and then refit for whatever else I wanted to do after that. Kindof an unnecessary pain in the @$$.

For instance: there are going to be 100 billion star systems in this game. That means a lot of people are gonna want to go way out beyond human space and be a nomad explorer and be self-sufficient, which sounds amazing. I don't see how this is going to be possible without allowing players to store useful things (minerals, ship fittings, inflatable asteroid stations, etc) in their cargoholds, and in their modular asteroid stations. Many aspects of gameplay that could make this game 10x as awesome, will require being able to store things in cargoholds and station item storage.

FD please don't limit this game's awesomeness by ignoring this.

I completely agree. If something like this were to be implemented it would also lead on, naturally, to "corp hangars", which in turn would aid the community / social aspects of the game. Wouldn't it be great if you could sell / give module x to a corp mate when you upgraded to something better.....

You can bet Star Citizen will have currency/item/ship trading, as well as storage aboard stations and in ship cargoholds. I'm just hoping FD is willing to "keep up" with the proverbial Joneses so this game can really shine. If they leave out key features like TRADING...STORAGE...well...you know what people do on a ship when it's sinking.

Don't get me wrong, I want Elite Dangerous to blow the competitors away. Just saying it won't if the competitors blow it away first.
