Items not transferring from ship storage to backpack? Supposedly fixed?

I have an issue transferring items from my ship storage to my backpack. I recorded this video showing the issue:


As you can see in the video, I transfer the Opinion Polls from my ship storage to my backpack. You can also see that according to my ship status panel the items were transferred, yet after disembarking I check my backpack and the Opinion Polls are now back in ship storage. This is stopping me from selling the Opinion Polls to a Bartender and is therefore blocking my access to an Engineer.

I have tried this with various items and it does the same for everything, it's not just data items. I have also tried restarting the game, which has made no difference.

I just went to report it as an issue on the issue tracker but found that it has already been reported a year ago (see issue here) and has been marked as fixed. It clearly isn't fixed.

I tried to report it as a new issue but after submitting everything I get a message saying "The issue could not be loaded.". When I then check my reported issues the issue is not there so it is not getting reported.

Any suggestions what to do now?

Update: I just tried reporting an issue in a different web browser to see if it that was the problem with the issue not submitting but on trying I get this message:

"Unfortunately you are not able to submit an issue at this time. You can still browse existing issues or, alternatively, try again at a later date."

Just leave them in your ship and head to the bartender....

Also some field when submitting an issue need to have 30 chracters put in. This message is not always visible.

I tried that but when I speak to the bartender to sell them it shows I have none, presumably because they are not in my backpack.

Yes, I made sure the fields had the 30 characters in when submitting the issue report, it wasn't that.

EDIT: Nevermind. I just tried going to the bartender again and this time they are showing up. Grrrrrrrr

Well that's got me around the issue so I can sell the items but it doesn't solve the issue nor does it solve the problem of being able to raise issue reports.

Any suggestions from Frontier on how to submit issue reports when the issue is a problem with submitting issue reports to the issue tracker itself?

UPDATE: I just checked the list of reported issues (not my issues) and the latest one is the one I submitted (Items not transferring from ship storage to backpack) but when I click on it it just comes up with "The issue could not be loaded".

I just tried to submit another issue report using a different browser (Microsoft Edge - I normally use Chrome), cookies were all allowed, signed in no problem. This time it let me get to go through filling in the issue report but when I submitted it I get the same message again: "The issue could not be loaded."

Do I need to try yet another browser?

I just tried in Firefox but when clicking on submit report it says:

"Unfortunately you are not able to submit an issue at this time. You can still browse existing issues or, alternatively, try again at a later date."

I'll try again in a while I guess.

That option isn't there when you're docked at a station. You could go land on a planet and then try it but that seems a long way round. Either way there's no need now as there is already a work around as you can sell the data direct to the bartender even if it is in your ship. So at least it's not a game breaking bug.

Not being able to take items with you when disembarking on stations and surface ports has been in there since release. Seeing that you don't actually need to take the items with you to hand in missions and sell stuff to the bartender makes me believe it's rather by design than a bug.

Sorry, I didn’t read clearly and didn’t realize you’re at a station. You can’t take stuff in your backpack there. It’s normal.

Just because it's been there since release and there is a way around the issue doesn't mean it's not a bug. It means it's a bug that nobody has any intention of fixing.

It's a bug because it was clearly meant to work. They have the option to transfer items from your ship to your backpack and it does not work. That is a bug.

I'd say it's Frontiers intention to leave it that way rather than their design to have it that way in the first place. I mean, who would design an option that simply doesn't work on purpose?

No, I was trying to transfer the Opinion Polls from the ship to my backpack, which according to the in ship status panel I had done successfully. The issue is that they are not in your backpack once you disembark from the ship.

And by nonsense I meant both, but primarily the alien logic in the game. Both suggest the same handwriting, the same weird mindset.

It is also simply nonsense. I have just explicitly allowed all cookies for this page (including 3rd party cookies) and reloaded the browser. However, this strange behaviour still persists.

I have no idea about the videos not loading for you. All I can say is that they load fine for me?
