I think only crazy people want to go to a subscription based game. I'm glad frontier aren't crazy so we will never have to worry. Personally I have never and will never buy anything from the shop.

I like the cat idea. I'd probably buy it if it was implemented and didnt look like a plastic bobble head decoration.

I'm thinking it'll have a few "modes".
1) Asleep on the co-pilots chair
2) Awake and watching from the copilots chair
3) On the dashboard, looking out the window
4) Gone: who knows where? Chasing space mice through the air ducts?
5) Insert more "modes" here

There would have to be one mode where it was in the classic cat pose of sitting with a hind leg straight up in the air cleaning itself. Maybe in the middle of the sensor display?

Probably jump up there and start this animation as soon as you deploy hardpoints, too, the little beggar.

Heh, if and when NPCs come along, with NPC co-pilots, "Cat" should totally be an option, and give no (or dubious) benefits.

Yes, it's already in game

Simply don't repair your paintwork and a few weeks of general use will have your ship looking scuffed and scratched.
Everything else - hull, mods, integrity - can be kept in top condition without affecting the looks.
In 1.3 the "Repair All" button now excludes your paintwork, so it's much easier to achieve this effect if you want it.

In reply to the OP:

I'd be happy to pay for the cockpit mods that others have mentioned.
And when our pilot avatars become more relevant, some customisation for them; goggles, aviators, flight jackets etc would be cool.

So the hull doesnt degrade even if paintjob is damaged wasnt sure about this but thankyou for clearing this up for me marra.
