Ash-ling? That doesn't seem right at all. Ice-ling sounds more right than that. Is the 'sh' aspect an irregular of some sort?

Where do you think 34th century language comes from?

I believe it's more than reasonable to use modern language as context for figuring out how to pronounce it.

Well yeah, but look at the pronunciation of many "English" English words from different parts of the World. And there hasn't been THAT long to develop the change. We Brits may "insist" on how the words are pronounced, but...........................................
lol, England isn't exactly the largest country in the World and WE can't even agree on how to say certain words. FOR THE RECORD, it's bAth, NOT barrrrth. And CAstle, not caRstle
