So- how's the 3.0 drop?
Tomorrow the latest or a couple days more?
C'mon we're all curious here...
3.0 is provisionally set for a July 21st to 27th live Persistent Universe release after Evocati and PTU testing...realistically, everyone expects it to be pushed back to the first half of August with the sheer amount of content included and converting the entire game to run on item 2.0.... which is practically a complete game engine rewrite.
The thing is...with a weekly updated dev schedule and roadmap, we all know about it as soon as the Devs do, so there's not the inivitable salt farming that you would expect...some, sure from the newer players who don't get involved in the Spectrum or read stuff in general. CiG are pretty transparent about the whole thing....delays and all.
Also inevitably as in game development as a whole, the phrase, early release doesn't really exist unlike delays and disappointment [squeeeee]
This may give you an insight into what's involved generally, it's not a fanboi SC video, nor does my posting it intend to offer any comparisons, direct or otherwise...This is a vid about the folks that make the magic happen, not just for SC, but for ED too no doubt. It's not simply a matter of plonking new stuff into the game and expecting it to work...as much as we, the expectant and demanding gamers want it to
I hope the hard working Devs, designers and production staff at Frontier take this rather off topic and off game vid as simply a measure of admiration from me as to what they do...every single day... to produce a game we all love. Not Star Citizen...but Elite-Dangerous. It always has a special place for me.
