General / Off-Topic It's been nice and all that...

Without this turning into game vs game thread, I can only hope that all the major publishers out there heard the enormous howl of the let-down space sim community (when NMS failed) and realised there is a potential huge market there. I mean NMS flop was pretty big, lots of CUSTOMERS willing to pay 60 "currency units" were sorely disappointed. Same for Mass Effect: Andromeda which we now have articles analysing why it failed. Hence I hope the relative calm seas E: D and SC sailed up until now will get a little more crowded soon. And competition in the market was never bad for us, CUSTOMERS.

Anyhow, good luck and godspeed on your space-faring adventures.

So- how's the 3.0 drop?
Tomorrow the latest or a couple days more?

C'mon we're all curious here...

Not tomorrow but in 10 days; also: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/schedule-report ; also, SC has another thread ; also, methinks you're trolling a bit :p
From what it looks like, UI may stretch that a bit if I'm reading that correctly. Not that I believe in 3.0 Scam Citizen hype, but at least they try to be transparent, which is a bold move compared to secrecy of FDev.

Right folks, I'm off to new pastures, new forum, new game.

I'll miss the old forum characters but right now, I'm too taken up with my adventures in Star Citizen to serve any particularly useful function on the Frontier forums. My input on here of late has certainly been singularly focused on SC which isn't really appropriate for this forum, either on the PC side or the Xbox.

It's been a good 2 years, I may pop back from time to time until season 2 is over and done with...I paid for it after all.
Be good.

Mole, Out [up]

Hey StarlightPL,
First, I'm only intrested the topic the O.P. started.

Second
MoleHD bring up a topic and a direct response to it is considered trollish?

Third
So it's another delay?

Thanks for the info.

C'mon we're all curious here...

3.0 is provisionally set for a July 21st to 27th live Persistent Universe release after Evocati and PTU testing...realistically, everyone expects it to be pushed back to the first half of August with the sheer amount of content included and converting the entire game to run on item 2.0.... which is practically a complete game engine rewrite.

The thing is...with a weekly updated dev schedule and roadmap, we all know about it as soon as the Devs do, so there's not the inivitable salt farming that you would expect...some, sure from the newer players who don't get involved in the Spectrum or read stuff in general. CiG are pretty transparent about the whole thing....delays and all.

Also inevitably as in game development as a whole, the phrase, early release doesn't really exist unlike delays and disappointment [squeeeee]

This may give you an insight into what's involved generally, it's not a fanboi SC video, nor does my posting it intend to offer any comparisons, direct or otherwise...This is a vid about the folks that make the magic happen, not just for SC, but for ED too no doubt. It's not simply a matter of plonking new stuff into the game and expecting it to work...as much as we, the expectant and demanding gamers want it to :)

I hope the hard working Devs, designers and production staff at Frontier take this rather off topic and off game vid as simply a measure of admiration from me as to what they do...every single day... to produce a game we all love. Not Star Citizen...but Elite-Dangerous. It always has a special place for me.
