It's quiet... too quiet

I'm hoping another shoe will drop. I was hoping for some kind of massive hyperspace rupture with Thargoids pouring through, maybe with a queen to destroy Sol and scatter the human fleets when Cocijo blew up. I enjoyed the show this morning, but I can't help feeling a little disappointed there wasn't a grander step into the next stage. We've got some spectographs and clues to go on, but I'll be impatiently waiting for actual confirmation (if any) of how AX gameplay will be accessed next.

I think whatever happens next is going to take some time to unfold.

Until HIP 22460 is neutralized and Thargoid sitings become rare... or move further away, I wouldn't say it's "too quiet." We may have broken the invasion, but it may take awhile to clean everything up. Or the FDEV may do handwavium and everything is fine now. Remember how damaged stations used to take to repair and now they are back online automatically (good change)?

That HIP 22460 scenario repeating could be something really interesting. Not only for the Sol system but across the bubble and uninhabitated systems. Apart from the odd jump scare when falling out of hyperspace between two suns and the self-imposed (rare) risks of some phenomena in Lagrange clouds or landing on high G worlds, exploring is lacking a bit of 'unusual' systems where a pilot needs to decide how to protect their ship.

As much as I love good old earth and hoping that it won't be destroyed entirely, a bit of an ambiguous outcome from the Thargoid destruction would be quite nice and entertaining

Speaking of which, I am very, very surprised that no one, of any power, has decided to drop a nuclear weapon on that thing...yet.
Considering that the Anomaly is located on an airless moon (no shockwave from the nuclear explosion) and the likely absolutely colossal energies involved there it'd be about as effective as trying to stop a hurricane with firecracker🙃 Still, uncharacteristic of Mr. Hudson and Mr. Archer not having proposed something like this🤪

Well, you're right about a shockwave not being able to be produced. However if you drop it and it falls right in the middle of that thing something is going to get vaporized. If a lot of stuff is necessary to make that thing work, a lot of stuff should get broken to the point where it won't work anymore.

Seriously, I think somebody should try it.
